Pro-tip: don't rent this movie. Buy it if you want to enjoy it. It requires at least two or more viewings

For an average movie watcher who shuts their brains, enjoys cheap comedy, exploding action with fast cars, traveling in galaxy etc etc , this is not a good movie. Coz you need to understand the plot and get the concept. And you need to be ready to use your brain. It's a different class of movie altogether. Not everything has to be for everyone !!
Ah yes, the good ol "you're not smart enough to enjoy my type of well sophisticated movie" reply lol

And no, I actually stopped watching those Transformers movie after the 2nd one Applause

I haven't watched the movie yet, but I checked Google Play last night and I had a credit for a $1 rental which included Tenet. Just sharing this in case you want to spend $1 to check it out in 4k if you haven't seen it yet.

Nolan is probably my favorite director, but he clearly just went too far with this one. Something like Inception is where the general public wants to be in regard to "thinking movies." At a certain point, it just isn't fun to watch.

I disagree. This movie is a pain for people who use their brain. I can get the fictitious nature of inception but the attempt to explain time as a property of an object and that radiation can reverse the entropy etc... action sequences were bad, acting was okay but not great. There isn't really anything memorable about this movie.

I posted in the last Tenet thread but I liked Memento, Inception, and Interstellar a lot and didn't like this movie at all. A lot of people are saying you have to watch the movie multiple times to enjoy it, but I found the first viewing to be so awful I would never want to recommend it to someone else. "Hey you should watch Tenet but you have to watch it twice in a row. It gets good 2.5 hours in."

Same here. Not sure if the $1 rental offer is available for everyone or just select Google accounts, but I plan to use it for Tenet. .

Can you understand what they are saying this time?

I really wanted to enjoy it in the theater, but it sounded like Nolan paid too much for the soundtrack and wanted it to be heard more than the actors.

A lot of people didn't like the movie because they didn't understand it (or didn't want to put in the effort of trying to understand it). If you are a genuine fan of cinema and sci-fi, it is worth a watch and I can only imagine how amazing it looks in 4k. I recommend renting it to see it once before pulling the trigger on a 20$ purchase if you are unsure. Also use subtitles.

You should rent and watch before you buy. I love Nolan movies but I would probably not watch it again. Ignoring the plot - Charisma and character of the actors is not great. Robert Pattinson is probably the most likable character if that tells you anything.

Are the digital codes still only for 1080p HDX? If so, pass & purchase the 4K digital download from Vudu or Google Play Movies.

Got this for the same price through ebay. I happen to like all of Nolans other movies so was psyched to watch. Enthusiasm dimmed quickly however. Between trying to figure out what was going on, Washingtons wooden acting, and cranking the volume to hear the dialogue only to have to quickly turn it back down for some explosion or swelling orchestra piece, one big ugh. My excitement was in watching Pattisons scenes and trying to figure out what kind of Batman he will be. I will watch again not becuase I like it, but more out of pride that I should be smart enough to figure this thing out without reading commentary or the wikipedia page.
