Is this gentler on stomach than IB or Tylenol?
Ankylosing Spondylitis sufferer here... pain and I are well acquainted... Ibuprofen makes me piss blood and only helps with sinus pain. Tylenol does absolutely nothing except make it so I can't have any bourbon. Aspirin doesn't touch my pain. Naproxen helps the pain (by help, I mean take it from a 7 to a 5), but man, after 2-3 days, my stomach feels like death. (Without drinking alcohol of course). If I do have a couple weak drinks while on aleve, immediate pain and burning in the old stomach/duodenum area. I'm probably not the best person to ask, because I've tried dozens of prescription and non-prescription pain killers. I've only not tried opioids, simply because I know they WILL work.

Sorry for the rant.

TL;DR -- it kills my stomach.

My back is Eff'd. Do you guys have a better over the counter alternative? I can't see my Chiro right now because he thinks Covid 19 is fake and doesn't mask up.... I'm here in AZ. So ya I won't see him for quite a while. Anything for my back would help SD'rs. Thanks in advance. Beeps!
Try taking Magnesium Glycinate. Works very well at relaxing muscles and reducing muscular pain.

Don't use ibuprofen or any other NSAIDs regularly. These are major cause of GI ulcers and kidney failures. Not to forget hypertension. Tylenol is generally safer but less effective pain killer.
yes I was hoping Aleve would be kinder for GI ulcers. I have GERD and MD told me to avoid IB and Aspirin.

"Aleve" and "Kirkland Signature Naproxen Sodium 220 mg" ARE the same thing (one being a brand name, the other a generic, but otherwise...)

"Aleve Back & Muscle Pain Relief Tablets" is just standard Aleve with different labelling, so is also the same thing.

The original comparison was against Ibuprofen which is a different thing (the brand equivalent to that would be Advil, not Aleve)
Generics use different inactive ingredient recipes

Usually I go for ibuprofen because it's so much cheaper than aleve. But it would be great to not have to take it every few hours.

How else does Aleve compare, other than the major benefit of less doses? It always cost like double of ibuprofen, even the generic prices.

Has anyone tried "Relief Factor"? I always prefer to get to the root cause of an issue & it seems like this product does that for many using natural ingredients that don't cause other harmful side effects. Share your experiences please!

These drugs have an expiration date and usually it's only a few years to be honest 🤣

No.. it is still not the same thing. They are both pain relievers but they are different chemicals and have different results.
Hey tcope - you quoted the post from likeaw in which he is providing an example of "Kirkland Signature Naproxen Sodium 220 mg", and state it is not the same as Aleve (which it is). You probably meant to quote PossumLodge, who is the one writing about ibuprofen.

What's the difference in the regular Aleve and the one labeled for Back and Muscle?? They have the same ingredients.

Tylenol/Acetaminophen has always made my head feel weird. Even when I had to take it as a kid. Everybody said it was "all in my head", because it didn't do that to them. But I did an internet search and found someone that said the same on a forum and everyone said it was all in his head too. Then come to find out they say it does something to your brain to dull your emotions etc. I can't explain it, it just gives me a really weird feeling in my head.

Have you gotten a genetic profiling for this yet?

Smart move on opioids, if you already have propensity towards alcoholism, stay away as long as you can.

You can try muscle relaxers, but those things knock me out me the hell out.
