both aspirin derivatives however
MD here. NSAIDs are not aspirin derivatives. They work very differently. Completely untrue.

The 70s called ..they want their Molecule back. Naproxen crushes Ibuprofen as a NSAID. And Naproxen is 3x as potent and requires only 2x a day Dosing
MD here and trained chemist. Both ibuprofen and naproxen are fine medicines. I prefer naproxen due to longer duration of effect. However other than that, the two medications are essentially interchangeable. Don't make it seem like the difference is greater than it is.

FSA eligible too

Edit* order cancelled in 4 minutes. Screw Walgreens with their shitty inventory system. Now the manufacturer coupon doesn't work when I select a different store!!

If you're spending over $30 for a pickup order, code SPOTIFY takes 20% off of the total after coupons. There are a bunch of other similar one time use codes if you look in the details page for any of the offers.

Don't use ibuprofen or any other NSAIDs regularly. These are major cause of GI ulcers and kidney failures. Not to forget hypertension. Tylenol is generally safer but less effective pain killer.
However, NSAIDs are also inflammation reducers, Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is not.

thx! How do you feel about taking these after vaccinations. Do they blunt immune response as some have suggested?

I got my second dose and it the muscle pain was intense. I finally just took some ibuprofen. I think the concern is theoretical at best. My advice is to try not to take it, but if you are really uncomfortable, then go ahead.

will do. thx! My 2nd dose is today too and my MD hasn't got back to me yet.

Not before right ? naproxen overkill ?

Q. Should I take Tylenol or Motrin before my vaccination?
A. If you regularly take aspirin, acetaminophen (e.g., Tylenol) and ibuprofen (e.g., Motrin, Advil) for other medical conditions, continue to do so as directed by your physician or as needed. Otherwise, do not pre-medicate.

Taking over-the-counter medications such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen before receiving a vaccine may reduce its ability to work and blunt your immune response to the vaccine. After the vaccination, don't hesitate to take an over-the-counter medication if you have symptoms that make you uncomfortable.

Ankylosing Spondylitis sufferer here... pain and I are well acquainted... Ibuprofen makes me piss blood and only helps with sinus pain. Tylenol does absolutely nothing except make it so I can't have any bourbon. Aspirin doesn't touch my pain. Naproxen helps the pain (by help, I mean take it from a 7 to a 5), but man, after 2-3 days, my stomach feels like death. (Without drinking alcohol of course). If I do have a couple weak drinks while on aleve, immediate pain and burning in the old stomach/duodenum area. I'm probably not the best person to ask, because I've tried dozens of prescription and non-prescription pain killers. I've only not tried opioids, simply because I know they WILL work.

Sorry for the rant.

TL;DR -- it kills my stomach.
Ask your rheumatologist for Indomethacin 50mg. Works wonders on my AS.

Me too. Wonder if they've got told to cancel orders? Coupon mysteriously disappeared so can't try a different variety.
