Over 4000 pieces of plastic. But it's fun to build. Lego sets are good investments if you ever want to sell them down the line. Once Lego stops making a set, collectors or people who really want the particular set are only left with the option of buying from 3rd party.
Lots of sets hit double or triple it's retail price.
the moment lego started making unique sets with unique pieces that is when i lost all interest

It's already $130, you know how much this would cost if he was coated in Beskar?

The licensing is probably A LOT more, don't mess with THE MOUSE.
And don't underestimate the cost of production for pieces — the manufacturing tolerances in regards to size are tiny and that is expensive to maintain.

I've seen enough YouTube comparisons to know there is a difference between the Aliexpress knockoffs and Lego. It's 90% there, but if you're a perfectionist then you're going to pay extra for the real thing.

The Razor Crest is a unique design among typical Lego Star Wars ship builds. It doesn't hurt that Mando is very popular right now. Worth $130? Yes, if you enjoy Lego Star Wars. This is up there with the new Millennium Falcon. I also like the new AT-AT. Both those sets retail for $160 (they have more "pieces" but don't go by piece count alone). Sometimes Lego comes out with a new set that is worse than an older set of the same item, but the new Falcon and AT-AT seem to be the best versions of each IMO. The Razor Crest is brand new, but they really nailed the design and colors the first time around.

Any idea of how the quality stacks up for those versions (whether this set or another)? Seems like the users rate them well...
All of my experiences with the "newer" (lepin et al) knockoffs have been good ones. I've bought a ton of authentic and imitations over the years.

Do you guys "kragle" your lego builds? My kids and I put these things together and they played with them and then breaks and parts go everywhere and then they just sit there broken. Just wondering.
Never. Lego has great resale value and you can buy replacement pieces.
It's better to create rules about where legos are/aren't allowed to be in your house.

I am wondering whether OP purposely don't use Razor Crest
it's no longer called The Razor Crest because of a trademark issue in Europe. Hard to believe but some company without licensing rights actually trademarked Razor crest before lego and disney in Germany so had to rename the set

We only buy the smaller lego stuff, although they cost around $30, so no real resell value I guess. The kids play with them and keep losing and misplacing parts and then they just sit there with parts missing.

I've definitely spent more on hobbies. Just amazed that lego (and probably moreso Disney) gets away with this though. Sucks that they're willing to gouge their fans so much.

There is a smaller set, "Trouble on Tatooine" that is $29 when available that has the child minifig (and also a beskar mando).

Ha - I've never heard that. No, we'll build something and if I want to keep it for display (really need a slick deal for shelves...), it goes upstairs until we can play with it together. That usually involves him tearing down or modifying whatever it is somehow but I can usually rebuild it between play sessions.

Glad you guys can keep the all pieces together and not lose them.
