This game is a gateway game. Next thing you know you will get the power up expansion. When that is not enough you will get Catan and pandemic until you spend $150 for Gloomhaven.

This is a great game.

Need at least 3 to play, better with 5.

Can be easily house ruled to make it playable by very young kids. Luck based, so they even stand a chance at winning.

Great game, but according to the camels 3, the price is only just now coming back down to normal levels after spiking at the beginning of December. I expect this is only getting thumbed-up because it's an excellent game because the price is pretty standard. It's been sitting around $40 for a few months, but CamelCamelCamel has it around $30 for years beforehand.

If you don't have it this is a good price, but not a Slick price, IMO.

This is a great game.

Exactly this...splendor was my gateway board game.

This is much better with 3 or more ppl. I don't find it as fun with 2ppl

I got the dark edition which I guess has rules for 2 people. And like others have said it is not very fun with 2 people. Dark edition components are pretty leet though. Also it isn't as "serious" for the mechanic as some of the other games you might play. It would be better suited for like a "Family" vs a serious board game night (Scythe/Wingspan).

That's the one I got after eying it for a long time. It's gorgeous and a better buy when on sale IMO.

Aside from all of that, fantastic game. $30 is on ok price (as another comment said, back to normal). As long as you don't mind that you're paying regular price, you'll never regret owning this game. Great for kids.
