-------------COMPARE to WYZE V3

+PROS: Eufy...................Wyze

--cooldown:
--subscription:
--video goes directly to phone, not overseas server first like with wyze delayed
--live stream works via Google Nest Home (Eufy)
--Better built-in human / pet detection AI (Eufy)

+CONS: Eufy...................Wyze

wyze v3 is an improvement over v2 but not an improvement over eufy. eufy has a very big advantage: built in Ai, 2K, notification speed . . .

the only thing wyze v3 has going for it is the water resistant, but that becomes irrelevant if the camera can not perform as expected.
Wyze has a 5 minute cool down period which makes the camera essentially useless. This is mentioned in the Wyze forum. You have to pay for the Wyze CamPlus subscription service to avoid the 5 minute cool down. Wyze gives away free/cheap razor (the camera) to sell you the blades (subscription).
Eufy 2K cam is so much better.
Cheapest I've purchased was 28$. This is a good price. Also a former wyze cam convert.

No. Screw mounts only unfortunately
You could easily put 3M double side tape in the mount, then slide the cameras base onto the mount. Same idea as Wyze at that point.

The biggest benefit to Eufy over Wyze (other than not needing a subscription for notifications without a 5-min cooldown) is that when you use 24/7 recording the motion events are listed as a different color on the timeline. This was always a pain point for me with Wyze as it didn't differentiate between non-motion and motion events when scrolling through the recordings on the micro sd card. Another nice benefit with Eufy is free person detection. Yes, Wyze grandfathered in v2 owners with free PD but that doesn't do new customers any good. Nor does it benefit people who want to upgrade from the v2 to the v3. Eufy PQ is much better when compared to a Wyze v2, but the Wyze v3 has the advantage over the Eufy due to the better low light sensor.

Wyze live streams all your cams at once when you open the app, does anyone know how to do this with eufy without downloading another app (like tinycam)? That's one of the annoying things I found with eufy but everything else has been pretty darn good compared to my Wyze v2.
I don't believe Wyze lets you stream ALL your cams at once, just up to 4. No way to do that with Eufy unfortunately outside of using a third-party app like you mentioned.

Can anyone comment on the plug for these? Is it a micro USB? I have an existing micro usb plug running through the attic I'd like to use.

Were they ever $20 though? I only saw them as low as $26 shipped.

V3 is Wyze latest design outdoor camera, sold out during pre-order.

Just FYI eufy sells these on amazon renewed sometimes. I got 4 for $15.99 each. You have to watch because they go quick.

I have 4 wyze cams also. I like eufy better. The app alone is worth the switch but the 2k picture is also better. They are also way more reliable with motion detection and reviewing video.

I'll throw my experience in too: I was a Wyze V2 owner and when the camera just randomly shit the bed, I contacted their customer service and they said they couldn't do anything because it was out of the warranty period.

Tried out this Eufy cam and was slightly skeptical, but has surpassed all my expectations in every way. Haven't looked back.

Try with Eufy when runs out of warranty if they give you new one.

That's the main advantage... Not needing the SD cards.
home base will take up some space, and probably need a UPS. In the meanwhile, SD card is pretty cheap. So if I have a home base already, I would prefer cams that connects to home base, otherwise I will choose SD card.

Never had a product that's working fine one day and just completely dies the next.

i mean, it's a different product line... the battery cameras don't have a µSD slot and don't handle the playback, i assume to save battery. so yeah, it'd be nice if the option was there to record to the Homebase, but it's really a different product and there for a different purpose.

for comparison, Wyze Outdoor Base Station doesn't let you record your V2 camera footage to it either, so... i suppose they're even on that front Wink
neither "support their own product integration".

Strongly disagree. Eufy has onboard person detection but even that is a tradeoff because you have to pay for cloud clips. Wyze offers free cloud storage for clips but charges for person detection so it's absolutely a wash between the two. Eufy video at 2k is more of an advertising thing and doesn't mean much because the Wyze V3 has a much better picture in all lighting conditions. The starlight sensor in the Wyze V3 also blows Eufy out of the water and completely tilts the decision towards Wyze. You get full color, high def video at night if you even have the slightest bit of ambient light. You can make out license plates, faces, etc. On a Eufy 2k at 20+ feet away, you're going to struggle to read a license plate or clearly make out a face.
the "free" cloud is useless if the camera is not able to accurately identify things, to make things even worse besides the almost 1 min notification delay, you will have to pay wyze forever subscription fee if you want the camera to work correctly (wyze Ai is not free), the moment you stop paying them it will stop detecting anything. so if you are into paying almost the same price of the camera in subscription fee every year to wyze be my guest.

in contrast the eufy detection is free, it's super fast and way intelligent than wyze payed detection, the moment anyone walks into the zone you are notified. you seldomly get any false detection and you don't have to wait 40-someting seconds before you get notification, or 5 min while the camera is "cooling down".

maybe one day wyze would come up with something better but that day is not today and probably not anytime in the future, because only a fool is going to pay every month for a sub service membership when one can have a superior Ai for free.

and i did not even talk about the app user interface . . . lol

Riiiighht. My question was if anyone had ever been able to get them shipped @$20 or if $26 was actually as cheap as they had been.
