-------------COMPARE to WYZE V3
+PROS: Eufy...................Wyze
--cooldown:
--subscription:
--video goes directly to phone, not overseas server first like with wyze delayed
--live stream works via Google Nest Home (Eufy)
--Better built-in human / pet detection AI (Eufy)
I don't understand why Wyze can't allow you view the videos that is captured in the microsd card via the app. Their business model is to make people to use their cloud service whereas Eufy is fine with you not doing that and Eufy allows you to use RTSP server without some firmware hack. Regardless of the video quality of both products, this is the reason why I want to switch to Eufy.
Wyze most certainly does allow you to view "Playback", i'm doing it right now... 24/7 recording on one of my remaining Wyze cameras that i haven't swapped out yet. it's annoying and slow, and tends to miss things just at the point i want to look at, also doesn't mark events on the playback like Eufy does... but it's there

Wyze live streams all your cams at once when you open the app, does anyone know how to do this with eufy without downloading another app (like tinycam)? That's one of the annoying things I found with eufy but everything else has been pretty darn good compared to my Wyze v2.
nope, one cam at a time with Eufy and i wouldn't bank on them doing it anytime soon... it's been on the "we're going to do it!!!" list for some time now. even without it, i switched most of my cameras to Eufy.
I have the Eufy 2k cams since launch. My gripe is that while setting to always record on both tilt and non tilt it is recorded as 1080 only. Live stream is 2k but it is 1080 when set to always record.
Within the last 2 weeks after noticing Eufy cameras. I have bought 3 pan tilt 2k indoor and 2 eufy 2k indoor regular. If the pan tilt goes on sale, i would recommend those over these. Don't get me wrong, they are exactly the same but built structure. 1 of my regular indoor 2k hanging on the ceiling keeps moving because there's a slight tension on the charging cable. With a slight tension, it's enough to move the camera adjustment off over a short period of time. The camera assembly doesn't have tension adjustment on the ball. Therefore it tends to move easily. Pan tilt version is stationary with camera adjust thru the app which is great. Also pan tilt have tracking system which is pretty cool as well
WISH THE EUFYCAM 2K PRO GOES ON SALE SOON. Also, ordered the 2k Doorbell coming soon. Very excited switching to Eufy
For the one complaining not able to connect to homebase. Not sure why its a problem since its indoor camera with SD card slot. Also, I set the camera to record to NAS RTSP. Excellent feature if you have a NAS. I have test it and its been working flawlessly
have you looked at the bandwidth for the NAS RTSP storage? curious what 24/7 recording of a bunch of cameras looks like... i too have no problem with the local µSD card and i use them all outside, not a single camera in my house. recording to the homebase would be problematic for me if it was a direct link, distance being the main issue. beyond that, i'd be concerned about bandwidth on my network, hence the original question
a side note for those interested... WiFi connection on these Eufy cams is far stronger than the Wyze V2. I have them outdoors, perhaps 200ft away, with an Orbi Outdoor Extender between them and it works flawlessly. my Wyze camera that was out there would run horribly slow or disconnect or fail to connect constantly... made it useless.
obviously not a use-case for most people, but just a point of interest for those thinking about it.

Silicone on the metal joint will "fix" the tilt position. Its definitely annoying but this will work
Do you think the price would go down by a little in the future? I got my first Eufy cam to see if it is any good compared to Wyze and it is much better than I expected.
Which wyze cam did you compare to? I'm also looking to compare to wyze cam.

How are you guys getting Wyze to livestream all at once when you open the app? I didn't know that was possible in the app
I have the first generation yi cameras and difference is night and day with eufy cams, I keep getting ghost alerts with yi even on low sensitivity. Picture quality is pretty great, but it was 720px vs 2k. I also like the eufy app interface much better than the yi.
This is a solid price. The cams go for $30, pan cams $40 on sale/black friday prices.
I second this. I replaced my Yi cameras with these Eufy cams about 6 months ago. These are far superior imho
This is incorrect. You can put in a Micro SD card and get continuous recording. The cloud clip storage is the component with a 5 minute cooldown, not the MSD recording. The CamPlus gives continuous recording to the cloud without cooldown and person detection for I think 2 bucks a month, which if you don't want to use a MSD is your option. Eufy doesn't offer any cloud clip storage without pay, so even at a 5 minute cooldown on the free tier Wyze still beats Eufy.
Eufy charges 3 bucks a month for 30 day cloud clip storage to a single camera. That means for 6 bucks a month you could have 3 Wyze V3's on CamPlus with a much better picture and a lower purchase price compared to only 2 Eufy 2k cams.
Unless things have changed, the notification trigger with Wyze is based on the cloud clips. So if you aren't paying for CamPlus you still have a cooldown of 5 minutes between notifications. Easy for you to verify if you aren't a CamPlus subscriber, simply walk in front of a wyze cam so you get a motion notification and walk away. 1 minutes later walk in front of the camera again and see if you get another notification. In the past you would not get a second notification unless you were a paid user. So the constant recording wont do you much good if you aren't getting notified of all events. Example, package gets delivered at 3:00pm (you get notification) then a porch pirate takes package at 3:03pm (no notification).
The mount has pins you slide the camera base onto. The mount is meant to be screwed to a surface, but you could certainly buy the same 3M tape that Wyze uses on their metal pucks.
