Superiors probably? The uppers on superiors varied so much revision to revision but the 3.5/4 revision was basically a lighter lone peak IMO.
The latest superior (4.5) has some weird plasticy upper and the tongue is only open on one side ... haven't tried yet
Also... for rocky terrain I tend to use a superfeet green in all my altras with some gorilla tape under on the forefoot to act as a rock plate (instead of the provided rock plates). Works well for me.
Honestly don't really notice a difference on superiors and lone peaks, both are interchangeable to me.
I just recently picked this up to replace my Superior 4. I loved my Superiors - not one blister. I also like the feel of the LP 4.5 and how they're a bit more cushioned for comfort during longer runs. However, as many reviewers have noted, they started to rub against my Achilles due to the design. Luckily, I had a short run. I like to wear no show socks so I changed to longer socks during a subsequent longer run and didn't feel any discomfort.
I got these last time they were posted. Very comfortable, very light (you can feel the air flow through them). I'm curious how long they'll last. The back of them kind of rubs against my Achilles tendon but I think it just needed some breaking in.
Same experience with me coming from Superior 4s (about 150 miles with no blisters). These started rubbing my heels during a short run. Now I've had to wear longer socks to cover them to protect against the rubbing. Other than this design flaw, I really like them.

Generally low-cut darn toughs here.
I tend to apply Leukotape to my achilles on any ultra so rubbing not really an issue but I can't say I've noticed it on training runs.

Still hasn't shipped. Ordered over 3 week ago. The dude that warned about this operation may have been correct....Wondering if they're out of stock on my size and hoping someone will return that size so they can ship them out...
