I had problems with a dell laptop before. This seems like a good deal for the price but I would like to know if I could buy my own motherboard and put it in the case and reset everything so I don't have to deal with dell?
Someone said last week in other topic 'bout dell xps that this 1660 can't support two 2K monitors via hdmi/dp ports - anyone can confirm it or it was false info?
Btw, 'bout cd/dvd... If you not use it or think it's archaic technology doesn't mean no one else use it. I have 'bout 2K audio cd's and ripping them for a car usb drive all the time, Same with audio books from library for my kiddo. I have footage library stored on 300+ dvd's etc etc. It still very useful to have around.
Any word on the power supply? Enough juice to upgrade to a 3060 Ti when they're more available?
3060 Ti needs about 75W more than 1660 SUPER. You might want to upgrade the PSU if you are thinking about upgrading the GPU.
Plugged in these specs in pcpartpicker.com. I got a slightly lower price with better parts. So, it is a good price if you don't want to haggle with self-building.

An even better price considering there's nowhere to buy GPUs right now unless you jump quickly on any new stock or pay way more than MSRP.

The point is that *almost* nobody else uses it. If it's really that important to you, get a USB one for $20 and then you'll never have to complain about it ever again. And guess what, when this computer dies in a decade or so, you'll still have your USB CD drive to plug in to whatever computer you get next!
I'd rather not have to pay for it, or to have that space taken up when it could improve airflow or just the general layout of the case.
