New 2/9/21 CDC guidance on double masking! https://www.npr.org/sections/coro...ronavirus? And don't layer another mask on top of a KN95, either. That mask should be used alone, the CDC says.

Powecom masks are FDA Authorized by EUA for emergency use. More details can be found directly on the FDA website, Powecom is listed in Appendix A: Authorized Imported, Non-NIOSH Approved Respirators Manufactured in China [fda.gov].

Powecom masks were tested by NIOSH/NPPTL 10x with 10 masks in each batch, test results can be found here [cdc.gov] which shows that they have well over 95% efficiency. These were TESTED but not APPROVED by NIOSH as the approval process takes much longer and is more complicated.

Direct links to results from the CDC Website:
Note that many people may have difficulty achieving a proper fit with the ear loop design which is why NIOSH Approved N95 masks all have the head band design. Bonefide does offer the head band design [bonafidemasks.com] which likely fits better but the coupon code does not apply.

Aaron Collins [yahoo.com], a mechanical engineer with a master's thesis on aerosols, has done his own aerosol testing with Powecom earloop masks and he did get over 97% efficiency [google.com] with the mask on his face.

Indefinitely? No. I'm a teacher and I use one every 3 or 4 days, so I'd say they're good for 24 to 32 hours.
I will vouch for both the masks and the vendor.

Does anyone have experience with this vendor or particular product? My wife is 4.5 months pregnant so I want her to start using something better than cloth mask when she goes out.

I bought some of the strap version KN95 from this company a couple of weeks ago. They shipped same day and arrived a couple days later. Quality seems good although I have no means to objectively test them. I'm baffled that after a year we haven't got to a place where cloth masks are out and everyone is expected to wear masks that actually make a significant difference in spread. Sorry but masks made out of boxer short scraps just aren't the same. In a year we can ramp up or change over enough production to outfit people with n/kn95 masks? We made multiple vaccines in the same timeframe!

how long did you wear the same one? These are disposable. I can vouch for the Costco ones, the fit and seal is adequate.
One every week or two. I don't really go out much so I don't feel it necessary to dispose of them right away.

I've bought some - I did have delays in getting an order this fall, but the last one came quick. When pressed down well, they have better sealing than the normal disposable procedure masks. I'm not sure how much better they are than cloth/cheaper disposables, I'm sure it's only a couple % at most.

I'd avoid going out as much as possible - the hospitalization rates for pregnant + COVID are much higher than for the normal population.
Agreed, she rarely goes out but with doctors appointments I want her being as safe as possible.

Can u reuse this mask? It's costly if everytime we need to throw it away after one use.

Currently using 3 ply which is more cost effective, but this one is safer I guess
When I bought the headband version last month, someone said that you can put them in a paper bag and sit for a week. Use a new one every day, then rotate through the old ones after a week. It gets funky after the 3rd time so that's when I toss it. I wear my for several hours a day though, so it'd probably last longer if you only wear it intermittently.

This is what I have been wearing since last summer. This vendor is legitimate, these were tested by FDA. I usually wear them with cloth to reuse. I put them in a bag and then reuse them in a couple of weeks. I use them with ear savers and you get a nice tight fit. They are very well made. I've tried legitimate korean kf94s and I find these to be better made. I haven't COVID, but I've only used them for shopping etc.

Yes, I use them again, get enough to rotate in a bag.

Got a hundred of these during their BF sale. Very very good customer service despite the shipping issues.

Easy to breathe through them... rotating seven of them throughout my daily routine. I go to the gym at around 9pm and doing cardio with them on isn't difficult at all (despite half of the place not wearing them...)

My test for a good mask is whether or not it blocks our the smell of alcohol/deodorant, or cooking smells. This does all of those.
