I highly doubt they can get 2800 mAh in a AA NiMH battery. Unless they are notably "fatter" than standard AA (to be fair the spec gives some wiggle room, specifying 13.5mm - 14.5mm. diameter) Too fat could be a problem of course if it doesn't fit in the device. Most likely the 2800 mAh claim is exaggerated. Not uncommon for no-name brands.

I am in the "Just get the Made In Japan batteries" camp.

The real test of batteries like these requires a real tester after a hundred cycles in

Usually generics have initial fake ratings and a steep drop in capacity with use.

Smart charge/analyzers can be had for around $30 these days so post your results.

There is currently only one factory in Japan that makes NiMH batteries. At the moment I know Eneloop, Ikea, Fujitsu, and Energizer batteries are all made in Japan (seemingly all at that same factory).
That's pretty cool, I had bad experience with Fujitsu and Amazon ones, they don't seem to hold charge, I think Amazon turned Chinese later on. Also Sony and Duracell ones did not last long. Eventually non-rechargeable ones got so cheap I went that route, but I still liked eneloop price at Costco back in the day. Now, I need super batteries for my flashlights, can't seem to find good deal or even good source for those AA sized 5-digit cells, I forgot the name.

Sorry, CAN NOT recommend these. I have them and Fujitsu 1900. The Fuji are slower discharge from non use, and the Bonai drains faster during use. I tested them on my touchless kitchen trashcan in a household of 5 people. The 2800mah rating is fake IMO.
alright thank you

How do AA lithium rechargeables compare?
I'm not sure why no one mentioned these yet.

micro-usb rechargeable AA lithium ions are amazing. Constant power and efficient power, and most of all, everyone now has a ton of wall chargers and micro usb cables and they only take 1-3 hours to charge. No bulky huge recharge station, just a micro usb cable and a usb wall plug and you're good to go. I feel the old nimh batteries just can't compare with these lithiums, a whole different game.

Definitely worth a mention, thanks. Pretty new still so pretty pricey, but really promising tech that should come down in price.

They also have just lithium filled batteries, like the ones you despise. But with greater capacity than the micro usb and NiMH.

Decided to give these a try and picked up the charger too
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1
Since I only have older chargers and none have the discharge function time to update. Would love Ladda's but no ikea around and only the AAA can be shipped to me, not the AA, strange.

I bought a bunch of Bonai AAA batteries a while back, and they self-discharge like crazy. I'll stick with my Eneloops. I supposed if I used the Bonais right off the charge, they'd be ok, but in my use case, I usually charge a bunch of batteries, put them in a drawer, and then use them when needed. The Bonais do not work for me!

Good Hi-cap batteries are around 2450mAh. Even the best of those do not have the cycle life and long term staying power as the 1800-2000 Eneloops.

2700-2800mAh are [pretty much all poor.
Anything 'claiming' to be 2900mAh+ are assuredly garbage.

Anyone with experience on these vs eneloops?
TIA
Garbage brand like these are far inferior to even Amazon Basics! I believe they have been tested, look on Youtube.

I bought the Tenavolts Lithium AA's a while back, comes with their own usb powered charger so you don't have to find the wires everytime one goes dead. So far I've been pretty happy with them for uses in things that just don't operate well on the 1.2v from NiMH batteries. The only trouble is the price, I paid $11.90 for mine back on 6/4/19, and the price today is $34.99 for the same item. Until the price comes down to something resembling reality, I'd stick with the NiMH batteries.

These are the ones I bought:

Agree. Tenavolts is a Chinese brand but with good quality.

I wonder if the Fujitsu batteries you had were counterfeit. Or if there are Chinese made Fujitsus, I know there are/were Eneloops made in China. Everyone also says to stick to the Made in Japan ones, for good reason.
