YMMV Lowes -- Lenox Offset Straight snips ($4.39), Lenox Long Straight Snips ($0.44) YMMV

Today I looked for aviation snips on the Lowes website and found Lenox Offset Straight Snips for $4.39 and Lenox Long Straight Snips for 44-cents. I ordered for pickup expecting cancellation but amazingly Lowes came through.

Price clearly depends on location, so YMMV.

Which store location?

There were 4 of one and 2 of the other when I bought (i got one of each) and there were many stores in the area with stock at the sale price. But right now everything seems full price in these stores also, no idea what happened. Weirdly when I bought original price was showing as 21.98 for each but now they seem 19.98.

Somebody posted a similar deal (for calipers) that I benefited from, so thought if I posted this might workout for others similarly. Only posted because I could see that several stores had them when i bought.

The $10 blower also got canceled for me.
However, I placed a bunch of orders for various items - and 30% of items got canceled, not necessarily the most "hot" ones, so it seems that they don't have good inventory tracking for sure.
Wonder if the employees who pick the items are aware of the selling price. If so I would imagine they would keep the $10 blower for themselves.

Also, for those arguing about stock and employees purchasing and canceled orders.

Sometimes employees might grab them first. Whatever, we can't really get mad about that.

It is a horrible pain to find things in their stores sometimes. Hit or miss. Some employees can find them quickly and some don't want to bother. Nature of humans.

If there are less than 5 and your orders gets canceled, the items could have been lost or stolen. That's why inventory can't always be trusted. Customers can be thieves or a-holes who pick up an item and leave it somewhere else to be misplaced or maybe never found until it's too late.

In BJs last week, I found a refrigerated whole chicken in the beauty/medicine section sitting on a shelf and warm. Leaking the raw chicken juice. Some people are just shitty.

Who do you think puts the yellow clearance sticker on these items? The public doesn't get 1st notification on these mark downs. Lowe's employees do. I have been to several Lowe's in my area for various home projects and I see people all the time scanning items. Awhile back I wanted an item and their computer showed 20+ of but they couldn't find it and I even had the store manager looking. I think brickseek is very good general guideline but that's about it.

I think most retailers probably just went through physical inventories, so they should be fairly accurate. FWIW I tried to buy a dishwasher last summer and numerous Lowes stores around me had erroneous stock - e.g. missing dishwashers. That's kind of a big and big dollar item to be "missing".

And about customers - that's absolutely true. When she retired, my mom worked in softlines (clothing) at a Supercenter and would have all sorts of stories about people that would just leave perishable goods in the clothing, like raw hamburger stuffed in hanging pants, ice cream, etc.

How do people find these lowes deals? Walking in the store or is there a way to search them online?

What are some of the perks of lowes for pros? Can you do in store pickup on YMMV in store deals or have them delivered?

For a lot of these clearance items, it is in store only, but lowes for pros lets you buy clearance items on the site still. That way the employees can try the items down. It's not always easy. Sometimes very difficult actually when they are boxed away way up on shelves, possibly not near the item location.
