AKG is a very well known brand, it is part of the Harmon Kardon Brand that Samsung now owns..

I own these headphones and they are a steal for $100. Earlier this year I thought I would audition Bose and Sony comparable headphones. It is true that the these don't kill outside sound as well and they can be a little tight on your head. The sound though is much better then Sony. Sony sounds thick and muddy sounding compared. The treble and midrange are much clearer on the 700s. The Bose were much closer in sound but not quite there. , buy these for music and video. I think they have a much better overall presentation music wise. Movie wise they have very good bass and voices are clear and understandable. The Bluetooth works well and at quite a distance too. Don't buy these for the tech qualities, buy these for the sound quality. For 100 you will be hard pressed to beat them.

Even if you don't like the sound signature out of the box - the corresponding AKG app lets you tweak the EQ settings so they can sound exactly to your liking. For $100 these have fantastic sound quality!

Note: In new condition with 1 year manufacturer warranty.

Usually the price hovers around $140-150 for new ones. These have pretty decent reviews and can also be bought for $150 (with EPP) at Samsung.com

Last time these were on sale at woot (Dec 25) were for $120 so this is a better price.
$127 is the current amazon price, $150 at walmart is the regular price. Still $27 to $50 off is pretty solid. They used to sell for nearly $300

That said I would easily pay $100 for another pair....I got one last year with a Galaxy S10 combo deal and they have been great!

Apparently Samsung thinks that it's name brand is more valuable than Harmon Kardon in the audio world.

This model, as opposed to most AKG headphones, was sold as a Phone Accessory. Samsung thinks its name brand is more valuable to Samsung Phone owners.

How is the comfort for you? Last time I got an akg I couldn't use it because it was painfully uncomfortable.

Yes the Samsung name brand is infinitely more recognizable than Harmon or AKG to the average person.

AKG is already a well known company so it seems a little weird to label AKG as a Samsung brand but Samsung did buy AKG.

AKG is better known for their microphones - headphones not so much.
AKG has been making top of the line headphones since at least the 1960's. If you watch videos of recording sessions with some of the top artists in rock/pop, they are frequently wearing AKG's during recording.

Go watch Dank Pods on YouTube and you'll see exactly why it says a Samsung company in the title. Comparable to the beats franchise, they use the name to push out subpar equipment

It's unfortunate that today you can't get a good pair of bluetooth headphones without ANC. Apparently you can't even disable the ANC functionality on this set. That rules out using these around the house for me.

I agree, a lot of these mediocre anc features many companies jump on to join the joneses is toxic for people who just want a good sounding, well built bluetooth headset. I rather emphasis is on the sound, build, right codecs, and bluetooth advancements for an overall better headphone.

Status Audio BT One is very good...little bassy. On ear, kinda flimsy, but only $60.

Agreed, maybe for rock and pop, but not likely for other genre's of music.

I'm just saying AKG is much better known for their C214 and C414 microphones. They are industry standard. I'm a little sad that most people (on slickdeals) only know them because the earphones that come with samsung phones are "powered by AKG."
