How do these compare to the JBL LIVE 650BTNC? Wondering if these would be a good upgrade in terms of sound.

Had 2 seperate pairs used for gym headphones...1st pair began making a sound in one earcup like wind rushing in...2nd quit pairing with bluetooth within 3 months. Pass
Outside of cell phones and TVs, I've yet to see anything well made by Samsung. They tend to cheap out everywhere. Not saying other companies don't share that business model, but Samsung is uniquely notorious with this business practice. Wouldn't trust the build quality or longevity of anything associated with them with the aforementioned exceptions.

HK has been skating on reputation for years, just before the Samsung acquisition.

It's unfortunate that today you can't get a good pair of bluetooth headphones without ANC. Apparently you can't even disable the ANC functionality on this set. That rules out using these around the house for me.
This model have ambient passthrough mode which disable ANC and pipe in amplified surrounding sounds. The mode has its own dedicated button so it's one touch to switch. To me, in ambient sound mode it feel like you're wearing hearing aid. It's actually one of my favorite feature of this headset.

There is a woot comment that these are the 2nd gen version of the N700NC (M2), which is missing a TruNote feature that the 1st gen ("M1") had. Looks like the M2 has USB-C charging instead of micro USB on the M1. Does anyone know what other differences there are between the two? Anyone who has both version that can chime in?
I have the older version and must say the micro-usb charge port was a weak spot. It's a very tight fit for most cable and need way too much force to plug in each time. I can see it being a eventual point of failure on this headset. Switching over to usb-c should be a big improvement.

iive got it with the C and it is kind of picky cablewise. I have 2 identical brand cables and it works with one only. Tne other cable has no problems with anything else. I noticed it on 2 c cables

I've got these and they sound way better then Sony stuff. Boss is close but is kind of soul less as compared to these. Don't buy these to use for cell calls.

The headphones use Bluetooth 4.1 and support AAC, SBC, and Samsung Scalable Bluetooth codecs, but not AptX or LDac

Pretty sad that the product description needs to say a Samsung brand because no one knows AKG. I'm tempted to try it although it's a little older model now. Bluetooth 4.2 I believe from a review I read. Also has some clamping force. That's enough for me to pass.
Pretty sad that Samsung BOUGHT AKG. AKG has been around a long time making pretty decent audio gear.
Anyway, I bought these headphones and they're working very well. Great fitment and sound quality. The noise canceling does an OK job. Good enough for me to focus.

Great deal at $100

Same here. For $100 or $120ish on Amazon, they beat the Sony and Bose in terms of sound quality for 2-3X less. Highly recommend. I will say the earcups are different from everything else I've tried. More rectangular in shape so I have to tilt the headset further back to align with the shape of the ear. Takes a day or 2 to get break in the clamping force as well.
