They really need to remove the comments section of SD. Opinions are not facts. Nobody cares what y'all think. If you want the item buy it if you don't then don't buy it.
So says deal font who joined less than a year ago. Take some time and read the room, buddy.

Is this a good deal? I know it's better than $18/TB, but does this ever go lower?
I only buy when it's $14/TB. 8TB=$115, 10TB=$140 12TB=$185. Seems like prices are finally gong down even though many said it will go up...

Agree with the idea to buy under 15/TB. But $185 for 12 TB is 15.41 per.

14TB's at $189 seem to be the best deal on large drives this past holiday season. Last year a few solid hard drive deals popped up in Jan/Feb that were worthy. If you need space this deal is ok enough to buy, but if you don't need the space just yet hold out for a 14TB around that $190 price range.

Congrats!! You are nominated for The Stupidest Comment of the Year. Not only because you did share an "opinion" (which by your definition nobody cares about), but because you read and even write in the very place you are crapping on. Just don't come to these forums if you think it is useless to you. What's the problem?

Can someone recommend a free tool to check these large USB hard drive for bad / week sectors? It can be either Mac or Windows. Just want to make sure they are reliable before I put my important data on it. Thanks!

You can use wd data lifeguard. Seagate also has their version.

It's a decent deal. The best I've seen is $190 for a 14 TB. Best buy had that deal before the holidays.
$190 for 14TB was best I've seen. About $14 per TB.

Average good deal is $15 per TB which is what we see on SD all of the time. This deal at $16 per TB is not good.
