As always with The Exchange, there is no sales tax. The Exchange is an authorized third-party Apple dealer. You can add Apple Care Plus to your purchase at The Exchange so you wouldn't be paying sales tax on that either. I am of the opinion that Apple Care Plus for iPads is overkill for most people, but I don't have kids or use my iPad as a Frisbee. Overall, pretty good deal for anyone that needs an entry level iPad or needs to upgrade from an earlier generation. For me, the 32 gigs wouldn't cut it. I jumped on the 2019 Veterans Day iPad Air deal ($268 iPad Air 64 gig WiFi only) and still love that thing.

I will say kids can be hard on iPads and they are pretty rugged in my opinion, I would also skip apple care for the price....
