LG 75" Class (74.5" Diag.) - UN8570 Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV

$899 from 1/17 - 2/7

Budget tv with current gen gaming console hdmi 2.1 goodness...
and "real" 120hz native refresh.

Rtings dropped the ball on the value of this tv, for its size and gaming input lag, and resolutions supported + price point.

even the 65" @ $629 was enticing me, plus the 82" and 86" are regularly discounted, but glad I waited for the 75". For gaming I love this size now on my Sony 850E and xbox one x / ps4 pro.

Now I'll be ready for the series X, ps4 pro, gaming video cards, etc with 120hz input @ 4k displayed natively whenever I get the source content.

And a reputable brand (been scared to buy a vizio M/P/PQ...) . Plus Costco warranty/return policy...for gaming/ganers, its like this tv was built with that in mind 1st and foremost.

Theres debate if VRR is supported but if not it likely will be. Still a badass 120hz @ 4k / 1440p / 1080p capable tv @ 75" for $899 is hard to beat...

FYI firmware notes mention freesync support
and RTX 30xx improvements:

Its cheap which is the pro and has 120hz via hdmi 2.1. The cons are a lot however. No FALD, dim screen with low peak brightness, bad contrast, fake HDR, cant display 4k properly, no wide color gamut, cant display blacks and will have a cloudy screen whenever you try to watch any dark scenes.
Tempting AF but the wife would kill me and all. Who needs a wife

Our family likes to watch movies at night but we also need wide viewing angles.

TCL 75" 6 series or this LG posted here? Thank you.
The TCL 6 series is significantly better in every other category...... The slight degradation you give up in the viewing angle will be more than made up for with the much brighter and colorful panel.... Just not sure if I'd pay $500 more over the 65"..... but otherwise it's a no-brainer.

One thing I'm not liking is the LG app store. Doesn't have tons of apps like samsung. HBO max is not in there nor Discovery+.
It has discovery+ and you can watch some of HBO's content through Amazon. You can also stream it from a phone, game system or other streaming service like Airplay, Tivo or a plug in Chromecast dongle. https://screenrant.com/watch-hbo-...hromecast/

If you want a 120hz TV 75" for $1k, I'd wait for the samsung series 9 to go on sale again. But if you're not a gamer, you may not even want to pay the extra price tag for the speed. The 8 series or 7 series might be just as good for you but I can't speak for them because I only own the 9 series. I was debating taking it back before for the Sony X90h or X900H but the only benifit I saw was a guarantee that hdmi 2.1 comes with it and it is fully compatible with xbox x or ps5. In short, I couldn't justify spending $400-$500 more for that.

Paid $849 on 11/24/20 for this. Free delivery helped as it's very large and won't fit in any crossover and car.

So far sports have been great on it. A couple of movies. It's not our daily TV as it's in the basement but so far I'm very happy. Our daily tv is in the main living room has the same specs but is 4 years old and only a 65". The only difference is version of WebOS and the magic remote. Love both upgrades.

You might consider upgrading your router. I had similar issues with random WIFI devices (TV, lights, etc) dropping connection for no apparent reason. I looked at the number of devices I expected my router to juggle and realized I was overloading the router's ability to maintain all of those connections. I upgraded the router, and no problems maintaining all connections since then.

Not sure what router you have, but I had similar issues. Asus routers have a setting that needed tweaked for devices with lower throughput and legacy devices. Check put disabling airtime fairness.

Depends on the model.... the Nano80 offers nothing more and is only 60hz for $300 more. You have to step up to the Nano85 to get 120hz and a marginally better panel..... BUT that will cost you $700 more..... In my eyes it doesn't justify the price difference.

why couldn't you have brought the TV to Costco yourself to return?
Same reason I had it delivered in the first place. Have you seen the box? I don't own a truck. The delivery was actually really nice. The pick up was terrible, they took the TV almost a month ago and haven't issue the refund.

I have to check the specs because it's hard to find a real 120hz tv before they used to be all over even 240hz now all you find is 60hz upscaled to 120hz which is crap. But if this is true 120hz I'm in for 2 .
