LG 75" Class (74.5" Diag.) - UN8570 Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV

$899 from 1/17 - 2/7

Budget tv with current gen gaming console hdmi 2.1 goodness...
and "real" 120hz native refresh.

Rtings dropped the ball on the value of this tv, for its size and gaming input lag, and resolutions supported + price point.

even the 65" @ $629 was enticing me, plus the 82" and 86" are regularly discounted, but glad I waited for the 75". For gaming I love this size now on my Sony 850E and xbox one x / ps4 pro.

Now I'll be ready for the series X, ps4 pro, gaming video cards, etc with 120hz input @ 4k displayed natively whenever I get the source content.

And a reputable brand (been scared to buy a vizio M/P/PQ...) . Plus Costco warranty/return policy...for gaming/ganers, its like this tv was built with that in mind 1st and foremost.

Theres debate if VRR is supported but if not it likely will be. Still a badass 120hz @ 4k / 1440p / 1080p capable tv @ 75" for $899 is hard to beat...

FYI firmware notes mention freesync support
and RTX 30xx improvements:

Crap? Do you know the average human eye can only see at 32hz? Are you Superman or just a ding bat? To those with a huge wallet and/or low self-esteem gaming basement dwellers, pay 100% more for your panel but don't expect to be more than 10% more satisfied with gaming quality, but expect to be 200% less satisfied with the movie quality....... Everyone else, buy a VA panel at 60hz and be 100% happier than buying this washed out low contrast daylight IPS panel and laugh all the way to the bank with your bundle of saved cash.

It has discovery+ and you can watch some of HBO's content through Amazon. You can also stream it from a phone, game system or other streaming service like Airplay, Tivo or a plug in Chromecast dongle. https://screenrant.com/watch-hbo-...hromecast/
Yeah I just checked again and no Discovery+ or hbo max. I doubt apps are based on location or are they?

I was between this and the Samsung RU9000. The ratings.com reviews steered me towards the samsung for $100 more. Hopefully I made the right decision

Its cheap which is the pro and has 120hz via hdmi 2.1. The cons are a lot however. No FALD, dim screen with low peak brightness, bad contrast, fake HDR, cant display 4k properly, no wide color gamut, cant display blacks and will have a cloudy screen whenever you try to watch any dark scenes.
All respect but I disagree on your assessment. I don't know if you own the tv or are just looking at specs and making assumptions but I personally own this tv and I love it. The smart interface is nice and smooth, it has 120hz native which is great for the new consoles, it has filmmaker mode which is awesome, Dolby vision, and even Dolby atmos (which is a rarity at this price range). I have had no issue at all with HDR, The blacks are not 3000$ tv worthy but this isn't a 3000$ tv. Plus, many of the other things you mentioned this tv doesn't have are unnecessary for the common person and unheard of at any price range under 12,13, even 1500 dollars. This tv for 900 is awesome. I bought it for 1000 and love it. It's well worth the money and easily a much better tv than you are giving it credit for.

I bought an opened box back in November for $800. This TV is beautiful. I'm not a TV expert at all, but rarely do you find a native 120hz refresh rate for under $1000 for a TV this size. Stop over analyzing and piss off your wife: buy now😂

How does this compare with the nano cell deal
The NANO91 tv is better, and was the same $1449 price for BF. Most people will tell you a Sony x90ch or its part number variants are better for the money, but a) it's not on sale now and b) it's not without its own issues.

I do know people with a nano90/91 and they do seem to really like theirs...

TV's are too complicated now days, back then it was who had the biggest CRT in the block 😄. I want to pull the trigger on a big tv but I need to get training first to learn what all this new tech even do.lol

Same here... my 40th is coming up and my wife gave me the green light on making a superfluous purchase, so this could be in the cards...
Only problem is that I have a boat too, and if she know how much I'm planning on spending on the boat, she might kill me if I bought anything else.
