LG 75" Class (74.5" Diag.) - UN8570 Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV

$899 from 1/17 - 2/7

Budget tv with current gen gaming console hdmi 2.1 goodness...
and "real" 120hz native refresh.

Rtings dropped the ball on the value of this tv, for its size and gaming input lag, and resolutions supported + price point.

even the 65" @ $629 was enticing me, plus the 82" and 86" are regularly discounted, but glad I waited for the 75". For gaming I love this size now on my Sony 850E and xbox one x / ps4 pro.

Now I'll be ready for the series X, ps4 pro, gaming video cards, etc with 120hz input @ 4k displayed natively whenever I get the source content.

And a reputable brand (been scared to buy a vizio M/P/PQ...) . Plus Costco warranty/return policy...for gaming/ganers, its like this tv was built with that in mind 1st and foremost.

Theres debate if VRR is supported but if not it likely will be. Still a badass 120hz @ 4k / 1440p / 1080p capable tv @ 75" for $899 is hard to beat...

FYI firmware notes mention freesync support
and RTX 30xx improvements:

The NANO91 tv is better, and was the same $1449 price for BF. Most people will tell you a Sony x90ch or its part number variants are better for the money, but a) it's not on sale now and b) it's not without its own issues.

I do know people with a nano90/91 and they do seem to really like theirs...
I am one of those. I own a LG OLED and got a 75" Nano 91 as a lesser used TV in a bright room. $1449 with $100 Hulu credit and a free extra 5 year warranty (7 total) was a no brainer. I'm pretty happy with the decision.

All respect but I disagree on your assessment. I don't know if you own the tv or are just looking at specs and making assumptions but I personally own this tv and I love it. The smart interface is nice and smooth, it has 120hz native which is great for the new consoles, it has filmmaker mode which is awesome, Dolby vision, and even Dolby atmos (which is a rarity at this price range). I have had no issue at all with HDR, The blacks are not 3000$ tv worthy but this isn't a 3000$ tv. Plus, many of the other things you mentioned this tv doesn't have are unnecessary for the common person and unheard of at any price range under 12,13, even 1500 dollars. This tv for 900 is awesome. I bought it for 1000 and love it. It's well worth the money and easily a much better tv than you are giving it credit for.
I completely agree. I bought this TV for $850 at Costco around BF to pair with the new Xbox Series X. I put it in a family room with lots of natural light with no issues so far. Personally, I would say this is a good TV, with hdmi 2.1 / 120hz, at a great price. I did my research and my expectations have been met. I think of it as going to a car dealership for the $29,999 version but by the time you start adding options, its over $35,000. If you want ALL the new features available you will just have to pay more, probably significantly more. Just think, the $5000 OLED someone bought a few years ago has hardly any features the new TVs have now.

As far as the apps, get a Roku stick or something similar, I wouldn't make my TV decision based on the apps.

comparing this LG with Samsung UN75RU9000FXZA bundled with protection from costco. which TV is good on spec wise. Please recommend.

I debated the same and went with Samsung RU9000. I'm an LG fan as I have their OLED but between the 2 I think the Samsung is better.

Made the same choice. I think the RU9000 is the better decision for sure
And yeah I think it was worth the extra $80 based on the rtings review

I proved my point? You didn't even click the link ding dong.

Please, go ahead and find me ANY SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH THAT STATES YOUR LIES.
And appspot is scientific.... LOL I'm not the brainwashed dummy arguing that 120 is apparently essential to watch tv.... My eyes are the only proof I need..... Apparently, you can't comprehend what your eyes are telling you or simply don't believe them.... That's on you, not me.

It seems to me that people who actually own this TV are very satisfied with it. The star ratings on costco are on par with ratings for the hallowed 900H.

People who don't own it and judge it based on specs and technical ratings, think it is a mediocre set.

I think just like with phone screens, we are reaching the point of diminishing returns. Our imperfect eyes, randomly lit living rooms and super compressed digital content have become the limiting factor, making most decent TVs perfectly fine performers 99.9 %of the time.
