Costco has the Yahama ATS 2090 on sale for 199.99. Available in the warehouse and free shipping. I saw this was posted earlier on sale for 239.99 and now they have it $40 cheaper.
Does this unit have any kind of volume leveling? My wife hates it when sound effects and music comes blaring across while dialogue is inaudible.
It has "Clear Voice", which boosts conversations over background. It works, but that's the only change you could do via remote or the app; there's no separate EQ settings, etc.
I bought this soundbar and the Yamaha that was also on sale at Costco for $200. I would be happy with either but I'm keeping the Vizio. The surround feature is the tie breaker. The Yamaha sounds great and has a better sub. The Yamaha sub is physically bigger than the Vizio sub and is easier to place since the Vizio sub really needs to go in a back corner in order to properly hook up the surround speakers. The Vizio also has to be turned up pretty high like 50-70 on my TV while the Yamaha never needed to go above 40. That said the Vizio sounds good to great depending on the source. The Yamaha has a dedicated TV setting while the Vizio only has Movie, Music, or Direct. The center channel volume can be adjusted separately on the Vizio which is basically the same thing. If I was mainly listening to music then I would have kept the Yamaha but the Vizio is definitely better for movies. I don't think you can go wrong with either. They both are great buys at $200.
