I have these and the top and bottom cross bars are held by plastic. Do not sit on these bars has the plastic breaks very easily. Other than that they are ok but I bought a self inflating pad to lay on top and it works great.

Does it come with a pad? I think it is much more comfortable working with a pad.

How is this compared to air bed during camping? Thanks
I have both and I would say the cot is easier for me to sleep on. I had no trouble assembling it. I don't have electric air pump and really don't feel like buying one when I have the hand pump for the Intex air mattress. Though the air mattress works but it is a bit too soft for me. I can inflate it more and have harder sleeping surface but over-inflating the mattress was how I destroyed my first air bed. The inner compartment fins separated from the seam that keep the mattress in shape from having too much air, which resulted in the center of the mattress bulging and became impossible to sleep on.

The air mattress is lighter and easier to carry but I would not include it with backpacking trips. The cot is bulkier to carry and I would also bring a cushion like a yoga mat to improve the sleeping quality. The cot is way faster to assemble / disassemble / bagging than the air mattress. If someone is willing to carry either for me during camping trips, I would choose the cot.

For everyone having issues putting the last joint together, you're doing it wrong, you're not supposed to try to strong arm it, put it on its side, step on the short side with your foot and easily join. Here's a video for how to put army cots together

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f...e=youtu.be
Spent 9 yrs in the Army. I just now learned how to finish assembly on the Army cot...

Yeah I have no idea why this isn't the first thing they teach. It's specifically designed for this, that's why the corners don't match up so you can easily step on the part sticking out to put it together under a lot of tension. It's one of those small things that once you realize it's so obvious but you'd never figure it out unless it was pointed out first

Sleeping in any temperature under 60, it gets very cold on the bottom. Its like the fabric turns into your skin.. You need a pad and sleeping bag

73 inches long? That's 2 inches shorter than a Twin Matress and 7 inches shorter than a queen. My point is, most adult men's feet will entirely hang off. I guess that's okay. It's just shorter than I'd expect.

There is a Big & Tall version that's 84" long, but for a much higher price. So, feet dangling better than paying twice as much or more.

Thanks for sharing. I guess I don't really even need a cot right now--I just like cheap stuff.

sure. some, possibly disgusting smelling stranger and their unkempt wildlife pets may have lived on and done god-knows-what on it for a few weeks before returning it - it's a dollar and change cheaper for the wear and tear (possibly smells and light staining)!
Honestly, I see a lot of truth in this statement. I know of several people that use camping equipment and return it there after. Not something I partake in, just be aware

one inch too short. Who makes a good tall person cot?
I bought an XL cot a few years ago from Cabela's. I'm 6'3" and have room to spare.

That's how I end up with two tents, three air beds, and one cot for myself. They were dirt cheap when I picked them up but now I just feel I wasted money and space. But I am not at the donate-them-all stage yet..
