RCA Roku, QLED 65" Class 4K UHD Smart TV, RTRQ6522-US, Black - Walmart.com $450

First deal post! Also first time I've seen a QLED of this size at this price point. Description at walmart.com says "Features our QLED Nanocrystals technology resulting in a super vivid color and contrast experience. The Quantum Processor features a powerful processor to optimize screen brightness and sound control. Quantum dot display boasts 100 - percent colour volume to bring you living color in both Bright and dark scenes.". I wanted an inexpensive 65" to replace the older 43" in our den area. Saw some other 65s had been posted around the $400 price point here and heard that Hisense recently upgraded to quantum dot technology in its H8G series. While I couldn't find a 65" of that particular model at a similar price point, I stumbled upon this one which looks quite comparable and has my preferred Roku OS as well. Hope this is useful to others here!

Yup. From someone in the electronics industry, I am 90% certain these are either late B-stock or early A-stock panels that Hisense/Samsung/TCL or Vizio doesn't want to do a manufacturing run with.
This user is severely misinformed and is attempting to spread misinformation.

Notice how they mention several brands while excluding one in particular (LG).

How does one save money by paying $50 more for a Westinghouse non quantum panel?

Found the Westinghouse on the CR site, it's actually rated lower than the RCA @46 (vs 52). Predicted reliability is lower too than the RCA, likely one of the factors. But of course at this price point there will be trade-offs on all TVs...

BTW, that Westinghouse is $100 less at Walmart only $400 there instead of $500 linked @ BB.

While that may be why the original RCA died off, the market has a short memory and a large percentage of SD'ers weren't alive when this happened and their opinion was formed in the flat panel TV era when RCA has been just a name to slap on a low end product. The reason why people don't buy westinghouse isn't because the company isn't what it once was, it's because they make cheap garbage today.

I have bought cheap RCA tvs in the 1080p era 5+ years ago. Two of two are still going at relative's houses. Not saying they are pretty, or competitive at their price point today, but they are still working.

Consumer Reports says that its HDR10
Many bottom line say they're HDR10.... Doesn't mean it's any good.... RCA's own site doesn't even have this model listed. their 6527 model is junk which is what I think you'll get if you order the 6522-US

Consumer reports has a lot of info on the 6522 and nowhere does it say QLED. I'd take a hard pass..

Get the Hisense currently on sale for $399 if you need a 65" right now.

RCA are absolutely trash screens. Rtings won't be doing ratings for a tv they'd assume put in the dumpster.
They'd just as soon, presume to throw in, or assume should be thrown in...

TFIFY. I'm sorry, I'm not a grammar Nazi, I just can't resist sometimes.

Doesn't matter. RCA is a licensed name badge now.

It has nothing to do with the old RCA company, other than using its' name recognition.

I've had a 65" 4K RCA TV since 2013 when it was on sale for the crazy low price (at the time) of $750 at Fry's. It's great for letting the kids play Xbox/PS4 and not worrying about whether they break it. Otherwise it sucks - sound is untenably bad, switching inputs will shut it off sometimes, it's finicky as hell about cables and inputs, and the picture needed a ridiculous amount of calibration to make it tolerable. OOB it looked animated. Also the stand won't hold it up - it wobbles back and forth in the ceiling fan breeze. I had to cobble together a support to keep from worrying about it falling on the kids.

So would I buy it again for $450? Not even for $250. But did I get my money's worth? I guess so, because I've kind of been hoping it would break for 6 years and it's just as "good" now as ever.

I still have an rca I bought 10 years ago and first used as a monitor and now I use it everyday for firestick. What's your beef? You won't get another qled at this price.
