The Eufy 2k Pan & Tilt model is back on sale for $40, matching the last popular FP deal.
I have this camera and it's awesome. Doesn't really get cheaper than this.

So this won't do 24/7 recordings?
I'm looking thru the eufy app and theres "Continuous Recording" option

Not sure why anyone would take the words of a random SDer when the manufacture states multiple times in their ad and their Q&A that this is intended for indoor use and not waterproof. Anyway, to each his own.
It's not waterproof, but if it's under eaves, water will have a hard time reaching it. For me it was worth the risk given how cheap these are to try it out. Worst case, it breaks and I'm out $40. So far, several months of various kinds of weather in probably the most exposed location I would have for a camera and no issues. Some of us are willing to live on the edge LMAO

I have it doing continuous record. I have a zone setup for alerts, but I can look back through it all. 128GB card and I think I have like 20-30 days of recordings for full 24/7 at 2k. Not sure, never went back that far. One downside, the scrubbing on the app is crap. Also, no live view of multiple cameras at once as far as I can tell. Otherwise, phenomenal for the price.

I rate this over all the cameras I owned (Arlo Pro 2, Yi, Wyze v2, and Foscam). I need one more for outside but I want to see if a newer version will come out. I want 4k lol.

My biggest gripe with these cameras, and I never hear anyone else complaining about it... They do not work together in groups. What I mean is... Say you want to leave the house and switch into away mode (forget geofencing, it's broken), you have to manually flip each camera into away mode. No one switch for all your cameras. Plus there's a few seconds to "Save" into away mode. Times that by several cameras and it's a pain. There's a lot to like about these, but I'm not sure if I'd go this route again.
Also my biggest gripe. I'd like to think something this easy can be implemented in the app. I've asked and they've submitted it to the tech team. Probably didn't but who knows. Let's keep bugging them

This is an awesome camera for the price!! Never missed a motion and never disconnected. Using RSTP and saving everything onto my Synology using motion eye. No issues so far.
Worked out a way to control the pan/tilt using RTSP/ONVIF?

A newer outdoor version is releasing soon, they just haven't announced the date/price yet

How would this be for a baby monitor? Will it work if I don't have a smart hub?

In addition to pan and tilt, it can track motion of a subject walking through its zone. You can also set up it to rotate around to different zones at intervals.
I have to delve into the settings, as I find mine end up just turning toward the wall and not catching a lot of motion events.

I have also submitted this request to them. I will be seeing up some Ring cameras soon, and the Ring alarm, so at least those will do what we want!

It does have pretty awesome pet detection but I honestly have no clue what a "dog camera" is or does

you don't need smart hub, you can access it via phone. it does have a "baby cry" alert just for what you need
