The Eufy 2k Pan & Tilt model is back on sale for $40, matching the last popular FP deal.
I have this camera and it's awesome. Doesn't really get cheaper than this.

Yes. It has pet detection and works well. You can also set an activity zone that will play recorded audio if it detects your pet in it. ie bed or couch.

I have the 1080P version, but don't expect any difference... Does any one else experience about a 2-3 second lag between the app video and actual activity - both in video/audio and in panning operations.

For example, if I have the camera pan left or right, I have to do so intermittently, otherwise, by the time video shows the area I want to view, the camera may pass over it due to the lag.

It does have pretty awesome pet detection but I honestly have no clue what a "dog camera" is or does
You can use Pet Command. You create an activity zone and every time your dog enters the zone the camera will tell it to get out. Good for kitchen and sofas, here is a sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S...e=emb_logo

Is anyone using this cam with the Tiny Cam Pro Android app? I prefer to use one single app to manage my 10 cameras. Dedicated apps can become tedious. Tx

This is an awesome camera for the price!! Never missed a motion and never disconnected. Using RSTP and saving everything onto my Synology using motion eye. No issues so far.
I just quickly googled "RSTP". Would you mind sharing a link to the easiest setup walk through on this? Seems like there's a lot out there.

I just bought 1080P version for 27.99 a few days ago, is it worth extra $12 to upgrade to this 2k version?

I bought the indoor cameras a few months back and everytime I try to connect while I'm not home, it days some sort of connection error -3. Anyone else get that or know how to solve this issue since Eufy tech support doesn't seem to know how. Thanks!

^^ I have same question. Does Tiny Cam Pro natively support this cam or do you need to do some sort of RTSP hack.

Did a little research, here's more info if you don't plan to use their $2.99 cloud record service.

1.
Yes, it will work with TinyCam Pro.
https://www.reddit.com/r/tinycam/...e_so_that/

2.
If you plan to record the video to your Synology NAS, it won't have audio, and the video quality drops to 1080p with some pretty bad artifacting. Based on the user feedback , there's also lots of problems with the Eufy software with regards to NAS recording over RTSP.

https://communitysecurity.eufylif...-2k/186037

TinyCam Pro (or any RTSP service) will also be 1080p and no audio. It seems there is a significant drop in video quality once you go to RTSP. I assume this will also be the case with HomeKit integration.

3.
Recording to local SD card will give you best results in video quality , but pulling the data off the SD card remotely is very cumbersome for those that have this mounted to ceiling or under eves of house.

Another happy user of this cam, their wired doorbell, and their fixed 2k indoor cam. Switched to these at black Friday. All are mounted outdoors under the eve to protect from rain and snow. Based on prior Foscam experience I put scotch tape over the speaker, and SD slot to help keep moisture and bugs out. Highly recommend this ecosystem. Motion/pet detection works remarkably well. Up time/stability has been excellent with my Google wifi AP. Only minor gripe is inability to livestream or get an updated snapshot from all cameras at once without messing with RSTP. Highly recommend
