Yes, I used PayPal when I purchased the deal. Looking back at my inbox, looks like I received both the PayPal "You've Authorized a Payment" and HSN's "Order Confirmation From HSN" email within a minute of each other.

I chatted with HSN Customer Service when I purchased the deal and they couldn't tell which model it was but in looking over some old reviews on HSN and QVC, and based on your experience, they seem to be selling "Ads Supported" version, so yes, you would receive ads on the lock screen.

The XDA Fire Toolbox will remove the ads, and there are instructions online for how to do it manually if you prefer to go that direction.

Is it 8 or 8 HD Plus you are talking about? After debating a lot, I went for the recent 10" since it is Full HD or whatever crap name they give (1920 x 1080) but find that little big to handle while on my exercise machines and wondering if I want to go for 8 HD Plus (but resolution is less here; but more memory. Amazon seems to be doing incremental changes here and there to make unsuspecting people or tech crazy folks keep buying and trading ins!). TIA

First Fire here and have to say, even tough its not as sleek as other higher end tabs, it feels good in your hands while not making you worry that it might slip out of hands and fall. Not too slow either, primarily used as timed kids educational resource and occasional Alexa interaction. Have to see how it looks on wireless dock which is going to be delivered today.

Try chatting with Amazon. They removed ads from my fire tablets previously as a courtesy.

The Lenovo Tab M8 FHD is $103 through Lenovo. It has 1080p screen. Octo-core and 3GB Ram. Is this worth $43 extra over the $60 Fire 8+ which I ordered and is in transit. Will only be using for media consumption. Thanks.

That tab has some good reviews and $103 is a nice discount off the $139 MSRP. Better screen and better processor and stock Android instead of the FireOS fork.

Whether that's worth paying 75% more than you paid for the Fire HD 8 Plus, that's really up to you.

If you were comparing the Fire 8 HD Plus at it's $109 regular price, it's a bit of an easier decision.

Definitely 8.
10 is heavier. You can actually notice it.
And since 10's screen is longer as to fit wide screen movies nicely, when you read standard sized ebook, you actually have much of empty space on top and bottom.
So for multi purpose amazon prime movies and shows and reading, go for 10.
Mainly for reading, definitely go for 8 or 8 hd.
And for use on bed, go for 8.

I was looking for a good 8" tablet. I like the size as a 10" hurts while holding with one hand. Now that the Fire HD 8 Plus is only $60 +tax I went with the Fire HD 8 Plus. For a cheap tablet (I'm a SDer fo life!), I can live with the speed and quality. This tablet is an upgrade from my Barnes & Noble Nook HD and Fire HD 2nd gen.

Pros:
8" screen is perfect for me, fits well one-handed
Amazon eco-system
Apps that can be loaded or sideloaded
USB-C (I can plug it without turning on a light or orient the plug for micro-usb)
FREE case
