Comment from the previous post for these have seemed to help some folks so here it is again. Hope this helps with some choices.
I have owned the JBL Link View, the JBL Link 300 (speaker), the Lenovo 8" Smart Display, Google Home, and Google Nest Hub.
Out of all of the Google Assistant displays, the JBL has the best sound quality, hands down. With the small subwoofer, it generates more bass than any other Google smart display.
If you want the display more for the digital photo aspect first and the sound second, I recommend the Google Nest Hub. Google did an amazing job with their adaptive displays and they easily beat out the glossy, computer screen look of the Lenovo and JBL displays. They can also be found for around half this price (on sale).
The Lenovo is still noteworthy and isn't bad at all. The speaker may even be better than the Google Nest Hub.
All of that being said, if you are only looking for a Google Assistant device and a good sounding speaker, the JBL Link 300 is an awesome option. It brings a significant amount of bass and produces clean sound even at high volumes. I have not noticed any difference in it's Google Assistant experience in comparison to any of my other Google branded Google Assistant devices. You can find them open-box or refurb on eBay for probably half this price and get two for what you would pay for one of these JBL displays. Two Link 300s would give you a formidable sounding speaker setup.
It is really all personal preference amongst these selections for Google Assistant devices. What you are looking for and how you listen to your media content can help dictate if you need/want a device with a screen or if you could save money on just a smart speaker
Not sure how long ago the $299 MSRP price was in effect but this is still about $10 less than other stores like Walmart.
Yes. Mine works reliably with the nest video doorbell.

Anyone have any experience with these. Was going for a $15 Google Home Mini. Wondering if this has any major advantages. Does the screen connect with video doorbells?

Even if you don't need a display I would pass on the Mini. Look for a Google Home on a site like Craigslist for $30.00 or less. Your ears will thank youSmilie The 7" hub display doesn't sound very good but it can be had at Wally right now for $50.00. If listening to music is the goal, this JBL is the way to go if you can handle the sound that comes out of these small smart speakers.

I concur. I just got my JBL from the last deal, last week. The idea was utilize it's rare water resistance and better sound (according to many ppl on here) to replace the Nest mini in my bathroom. It's been disconnecting from wifi/home or needing full resets. I believe its been having problems with humidity, idrk.

Anyway, I plug this JBL in and pay stubs music and just started laughing at how LOUD this thing is. And powerful. Bass is Heavy. I actually wish you could equalize it, like with other home devices. Way too much for just my bathroom alone, but I'm going to wait until my downstairs neighbors day anything before moving it.

A lot of user reviews can be found in SD from people that purchased them. If you want a great sounding display with GA that doesn't break the bank, this is it. I've got 2

I have one in the bathroom for clock, youtube music, casting Hulu, youtube videos, audiobooks, podcasts, etc. It wont play Netflix and I haven't tried Google Movies . You can use as bluetooth speaker and as Google Home device. Sound is great it will play an entire album of an artist if a available ,not "similar to" More often than not.

Thanks. I'll give it another look when I get back from work. I only saw the settings gear for this one, no three bars icon to adjust audio.
