You can hot swap SATA drives on most any computer, to do so set whichever port as hot swap/ esata port, and remember to eject the hard drive in windows as if it was a USB drive before disconnecting.

The Dream Bass is just a USB sound card. I can confirm that it does work, though I can't tell a sound difference from my $7 Sabrent USB sound card. No evidence that it boosts anything. No static or interference, no problems, just nothing special. It does look like a vacuum tube though.

a lot of motherboards support SATA hot swap, sometimes it has to be enabled in the BIOS options, I've used it before.
