Da Vinco Resolve 17 is like $295!

Da Vinci Resolve looks comprehensive and high end. I don't think if u had that u would need any of these. I would only buy these if u r a geek about softwares but likely won't offer any benefit. These are for the people who don't have anything. If I had Da Vinci Resolve I would skip this.. actually im a geek so I would buy it needlessly.
Da Vinci Resolve has a free version. Curious how it stacks up against Pinnacle.

I cannot comment on the painter, as I use photoshops still for these purposes and have not found a full fledged replacement yet for that however let me comment on the video editor 24. It has a lot of lag to the interface. Not horrible, but my machine is a beast as well as gfx card and this is laggy. That's strike one. 2 this interface was not developed for 4k screens. It's like a scaled up ui and it's not bad nor good, just fyi. 3, no preview scopes I can see for color grading. That's surprising. 4, built in LUTs? Cant find um. Maybe hidden in some menu, dunno. I can see where you can buy luts.... 5, want to burn a blue ray? That's 8 bucks extra. Burn in 4k to that blu ray? Nope. 1080p/60 max. Single user workflow only. Network drive support for smb, unsure about other protocols.

Now for the good. It's easy to use. It does have good masks that while not advanced, are easy. You cant have it both ways with masking. The titles are more then acceptable at defaults. The media workflow is common sense driven, more then premier or final cut. It does support up to 4k at all resolutions, no 8k. It has a wide array of presets that look to work well. It has an easy to use zoom/panner. It seems to have an impressive amount of 3d presets and editing capabilities if you produce that for say VR.

All in all, for 10 bucks (with the purchase of blu ray burning) it's worth it. If I could go back and undo spending 8 bucks on blu ray to find out it has no 4k support, I would. I literally could not find that info anyplace pre purchase.

Some side notes. I have never seen a bigger cluster F then the website that is Corel. Seriously they need to fire whomever did this shit and remake a cohesive site. The KB/support/faq suck super bad. They do have good tutorials and video explainers, but they are scattered all over.

Hope this helps some.

But Blu-ray spec maxes out at 1080p. Unless you're talking about UHD Blu-ray. I'd assume most people who already invested in a UHD burner also invested in UHD authoring software (which could be used with a 4k video outputted by Pinnacle Studio).

Also how common is including disc authorizing features with video editing software these days? Only software I personally know for sure that includes it is NERO but I haven't used that for video editing or authoring (just audio or data). Back in the day I used an older version of Premier Elements which lacked authoring and a separate program (TMPGEnc DVD Author) for authoring. Haven't done any video disc authoring in years.

BTW for anyone reading who's interested in authoring or a list of commercial and freeware general video/audio utilities, Videohelp is a treasure trove:

They've been around for a decade pumping out awesome deals (originally focused on indie games bundles) and I've used them since their first bundle. You've been missing out

I don't know if I'll need the Multicam or Painter but paid the $30.

I have a really outdated copy of Paintshop Pro and haven't used in awhile. Not bad for $30 if I decide to get back into it... need to find me a good digitizer tablet now. Was mainly interested in the video editing s/w.

It gave me 0 info prior to purchase about what I was buying. I was hopeful it had uhd editing capabilities. You can burn a 4k blu ray even with popular older lg drives with old firmware. I just wish they had provided additional info, heck any info, prior to purchase about supported formats. Bluray is capable of 4k and uhd in and of itself per spec.

Any reason to use this over Davinci Resolve?
Dunno. But I love DaVinci Resolve. Still learning too.

Ditto. I've redeemed plenty of Steam keys from their sales without issue.

Coral product are the worse. Popups to buy more Corel product. After trying to find a way to turn that off at the desktop, when I start the program I get new popups wanting me to buy more Corel products. I've been burnt by Corel before, nothing has changed.

Humble Bundle is very legit. The products they carry might have already been release DRM free, or in this case, be outgoing versions of products.

Corel on the other hand, sucks A$$.

Curious about ease of use. My biggest gripe with Davinci Resolve is that the learning curve is as steep as it gets. I felt like I had to google every single thing I wanted to do. I miss Windows Movie Maker.
