I'm curious as to how well this would actually protect the phone, as opposed to just looking nice.

If you're a monster who puts your phone in the same pocket as your keys, the cover will protect the screen. Also when you drop your phone the cover should take most of the damage, so no cracked screen

That prices have been at Samsung for a couple months. I got one for my wife's S20 plus in November. There was additional education/employee discount on that. I think I paid $14 plus tax at the end.

Yeah, same price at Samsung as stated above (And a color of your choice.), plus 10% cash back via the 'Rat'.

Even though I have the S20+, I just dont dig the case.

S20 case [samsung.com] at Samsung.
S20 Plus case [samsung.com] at Samsung.
S20 Ultra case [samsung.com] at Samsung.

The annoying part will be that cover, gotta flip it each time you pick it up, left habded operations will be more difficult, and right handed operations will see cover creeping over at some angles (face down viewing)

I've had this case since the phone came out. This case makes it very hard to take pictures with the rear camera. It's very awkward to hold because the case door has to be at the side. You can't fold it to the back or it blocks the lenses.
