Had the chair for 2 years. Chair is comfortable but color rubs off over time. The materials for this chair are really cheap. The base that holds the wheels broke within a year. I would recommend buying warranty
I always buy 2 or 3 year extended warranty from staples. They were good with replacement or refund.

Can anyone recommend a good work chair for a tall fellow? I am heeding the warning here, and avoiding this chair. I work remotely 100% of the time now, like many other people. I would pay 5x the price if it was comfortable and didn't press into my lower back. I have mild sciatica which has been more of a PITA since working from home. I don't need or want real leather, unless there is some advantage; fabric seems fine. Reviews everywhere are BS. Seems like some knowledgeable people here.

What's your budget? 150ish will be Staples hyken or Staples dexely. 300$ would be workpro. 800$ will be steelcase leap. 1000$ will be Herman miller. Or if you go used you can get steelcase at around 400 and Herman miller at 600

Try HermanMiller Aeron chair. Best in the class.
Made in USA!
I'm in the same boat as you because I'm tall and doing some work from home as well. Another vote for Herman Miller Aeron as that's what others have told me. If you want a gaming chair, I heard that secret labs is a good place to go as their chairs are supportive, work well and they have recommendations based on your weight and height. I don't own one but need another chair too.

Got this back on Black Friday for close to the same price. Maybe 120. Worth it for my needs. Been sitting in it daily since for work and it's comfortable. Some will complain about the bonded leather peeling. Keep in mind this is $100. If you're looking for a chair that'll last you more than a few years, might want to spend a little more.
Or buy fabric. 🤷🏾

After some research, I pretty much came to the conclusion to not buy gaming chairs. Ever. "Gaming" marketed stuff is usually not very good. Gaming chairs don't seem to be currently made for ergonomics and comfort. Gaming keyboards can be fine, but not usually worth the extra premium. Gaming headphones can be good (like HyperX), but many are inferior to regular headphones. Gaming mice are an exception to this (for gaming, that is).

I'd pass on this in principle. A chair is not something i'd cheap out on. The risks can be too high. I had back pain from my kneeling chair - then bought an exercise ball to try it out. That was only a bit better.

Did my due diligence and found a SteelCase Leap 2 from an office furniture liquidator. $280 dollars plus tax. No Aerons in sight.
Used, in very good shape and I think I got a great deal. Should last years. Do your body a favor.

Not that it isn't worth full price, but I've seen used Aerons at 400-450, and Leaps a bit less. I got a LeapV2 for 300 without negotiations at a liquidator in Santa Clara, CA. Very worth it.
Great recommendations, though.

I agree. Wish I had liquidators or some other company selling quality chairs around here. Can't afford them at MSRP.

I was suffering from neck and shoulder pain for over a year. Maybe years. I thought it was due to years of carrying around a heavy backpack to school and work. Changed chairs and wala, it was the damn chair all along. The chair I have now isn't that great, but it has to do until I can afford a better one.

How do you add the extended warranty to the chair?

I really don't understand faux leather chairs. Either fabric of full leather
Bonded leather is not faux leather. It's still real leather but with a thin layer on top glued to another fabric. Faux leather would be plastic material or "vegan" leather.

This one has been great imo. Bought early into pandemic and has held up well. Good back support and seat is supportive. https://www.staples.com/tempur-pe...t_24401228

I have this chair in red. I've had it for over two years now. Nothing has rubbed off or faded.
That's about the only good thing I can say about it. It is the LEAST comfortable chair I've ever owned and I can't wait for it to fall apart to justify getting a new one.
The seat cushion is literally slanted down forward. No, it is not installed incorrectly. The mounting points, pictures, and label on the cushion that say "front" reassure me that I did not mess up. It's HORRIBLE.

My bonded leather staples chair has peeled off almost entirely after I started using it more the last 12 months. It's still fine to sit on, but I have to cover it with a sheet to make it more "pleasant looking."
