I really don't understand faux leather chairs. Either fabric of full leather
Actually Faux leather is better because its vinyl. Bonded leather is trash.

Not that it isn't worth full price, but I've seen used Aerons at 400-450, and Leaps a bit less. I got a LeapV2 for 300 without negotiations at a liquidator in Santa Clara, CA. Very worth it.
Great recommendations, though.
I got leap v2 fully loaded for about $300 through offerup. Much better than the new gaming chair I recently bought.

Had the chair for 2 years. Chair is comfortable but color rubs off over time. The materials for this chair are really cheap. The base that holds the wheels broke within a year. I would recommend buying warranty
Wouldn't the base be covered under their 7 year warranty?

I got the black one back in March 2020 for $120 when I started WFH. I'm 6', 185 and no wear , no sag so far and on it 7+ hrs a day during the week. For me definitely worth it at $100 vs using a kitchen chair prior if that helps anyone.

My bonded leather staples chair has peeled off almost entirely after I started using it more the last 12 months. It's still fine to sit on, but I have to cover it with a sheet to make it more "pleasant looking."
Thats what she said

Bonded leather used to last at least 2-3 years, with extra seat-time from Covid, I give it about 9 months.

Steelcase Gesture/Leap. Allsteel chairs. Nightingale CXO. Humanscale. Herman Miller Aeron/Mira/Embody . All are available at a fraction of msrp if you are willing to buy used. There are office liquidators in every major city and advertise on local and online classifieds. And the good ones will have several models in stock so you can try em out.

If you have $100 to spend on a chair, you're likely better off getting an office chair made of mesh or fabric from Costco, Staples, Amazon, or IKEA. I'd hate to have to get rid of a peeling chair after only a year or two, not to mention wasting money.

I was able to use a $15 off $60 coupon, I received from Staples in December (12/28). The coupon had a 1/2/2021 expiry date, but I was able to apply it to my order. I also purchased a 3-year Staples warranty for $14.99, which states it will cover normal wear and tear, cuts, etc.

I also used my Discover reward points to buy a $60 Staples e-gift card for $51.25, which I used for this purchase.

Tech Jesus (Steve Burke on Gamer's Nexus for the uninitiated) did a great video about these "gaming" chairs. The upshot is, if you have a gaming chair and like it ok, good for you, keep it and be happy. Everyone else, you can do better, look elsewhere for real office chairs, preferably the good ones that you can buy used/remanufactured. I knew what was coming with the pandemic when I started working from home, so I immediately bought a Steelcase Leap v2 and have loved it- I can sit for 18 hours a day and not get sore. Of course, I recommend moving around some, and a standing desk I made several months later has also helped a lot.
