You didn't give this a lottathought. You put this on what you are trying to level then once it's green, you install/mount/etc it.
You may be correct...but my question still stands.

If you look closer at those pictures, they show how one is 0 and Green. The other is 0 and Red. And they mention calibration. Same for 90.

So.......why is looking for green better than looking for the bubble in between the lines?

It is not to be more exact. One of the reviews mentions it is close enough for general work.....so it is not more precise than the bubble.

And why is calibrating and then levelling better than just levelling?

And no, I did not read all the instructions on how to use it....which again makes my point. It does not take a manual to make sure the bubble is between the lines.

Maybe there is a benefit here...I am just not seeing it.

Milkbox is correct. I think many maybe missing the smart feature of this level in that if it is level it lights up green and if not is red. I have plenty of levels, but this could be beneficial in dark areas, plus this has a protector case too when in storage. I'm going to give it a go and roll the dice. At least I'll be able to say I have a "Smart" Level now, LOL, and if it doesn't work right or looks like junk I'll be returning it because it qualifies for free return shipping for Prime members.

If it also had a speaker with audio saying if it was level or not level I would be in, still way too much effort to look if it's green or red

What you're not seeing is the advantage of working in a dark location. I've have a few lighted torpedo levels that work great when you are having a hard time seeing the bubble. Been on many jobs when someone asked me to borrow it. The thing that sucks is when you drop one, it may not light again.

Just another pop-up China shop with no reviews more than a few months old, and in a year won't even exist.

(Because they'll change names and colors and be impossible to get a return or warranty when it inevitably breaks and goes bad)

Please, please stop supporting these terrible businesses that Amazon has no problem pushing on our faces.
Thanks for pointing this out. Thumbs down on the "deal".

Edit: hmm what gives? When I try to click thumbs down it says because the thread is closed I can't vote. But the thread clearly isn't closed...? Seems fishy

I feel like some enterprising soul just needs to make a regular spirt level with a small LED backlight that is rugged and they'd have this product licked for any real use. I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't need this it's dumb.
