It seems like a road bike like this defeats the purpose of getting excercise from riding your bike. I can see electric mountain bikes but as ugly as this thing is, its probably good that it folds up so nobody knows what it is.

Haha, well, you don't have to worry about that, but I'm sure you'd look really masculine on this bad boy!

Got this way back in Summer and I love it. It does look kinda dumb and def doesn't last me the full 30 miles or whatever it states even only using the pedal assist. But would repurchase again. Great for riding along SF Embaracadero but need to walk up hills.

I still don't get why they killed the bluetooth and made this "newer" version dumber. At it stands, unless someone can correct me, it's kneecapped at 15.5mph whereas the previous generation could hit 19mph using the app.

I could knock on this small ebike on a bunch of reasons but judging it by itbeing small is definitely not one of them. It's designed to portable so you aren't going to look like you're riding a normal bike, which funny enough, the car fanatics also make fun of. I don't think people should ride these to look cool but rather get from A to B without using a 2ton machine.
It's no sillier than riding a solo wheel, a longboard, or escooter. People used to ski without helmets or use seatbelts back in the day but the logic of not dying eventually urged acceptance.

Good to ride to the office in your suit without sweating.

Because for some folks, their intended use is home to the metro station or the like to commute to work (yeah I know COVID-19 and telework, blah blah blah but eventually more normal life will return). A bike like this moots the need for a car or scooter for the 'get to the metro station' part of the commute (presuming it's too far to walk for time purposes) while reducing costs like parking and gas. Having the bike offer electric assist means I don't need to bring a change of clothes to the office since it minimizes the "exercise" aspect of biking to the metro station. Which is important during the summer when I don't want to sweat my ass off biking to the metro stop and feel like I need a shower once I do eventually get into the office. Yes, I realize this means this bike is not optimal for exercise purposes, but most folks who can afford this e-bike can likely afford a dedicated "exercise" bike as well.

While it is dumb looking, I won't hold that against it. What I don't get is that the intended purpose is mainly office/working going peeps, so why doesnt it include some kind of rack/carrier so people can put their bag on it. It is not like one can buy any aftermarket item for it considering the specialized nature of this bike

Before you reply that they sell something, for $XX, I just feel that I shouldnt have to spend extra for something essential to the functionality of this bike

These are absolutely awesome.
They also do take some incline pretty well (though you will have to pedal).

I got two and have been doing some off-road biking which is absolutely hilarious.
Probably look like a total clown but you won't be able to hold back laughter when you easily cruise past some super-athlete huffing and puffing on an expensive mountain bike while going up an incline.

I would say that this can easily manage a 6% incline and starts to struggle around 10% (doable if you can pick up some speed and are willing to do some heavier pedaling).

Sadly the bluetooth module is ridiculously expensive as an aftermarket purchase, though I have been tempted to get it with the idea that I sell it after using it to unlock my bike.
