Link to the razer deal please.
It's very YMMV but you can find Fair condition ones from $857 (at least in my area). Satisfactory from a little more. Mine was basically perfect, just a little dirty. Cleaned it up with some rubbing alcohol. Display has perfect uniformity too which is a big boon on a bright screen.

Does not hold a candle to this deal, but I do like thinkpads when they are actually on a real sale. This is a overinflated price and shows a huge markdown to make you think your getting a stellar deal.

The 3060 laptops will edge over $1000 because of the shitty market.. the one thing Biden did NOT do was reverse a 15% tariff with an executive order..
Quote from Nero_Forte :
Why would he do that? Just because you want a cheap laptop? If at all, I'd increase it
I guess he values that $100 more than having a job and keeping his kids and grandkids from working as wage slaves in Chinese factories.

China makes too much of the world's 💩, time to give other countries s go at chip, mobo and gpu factories.

He11s yeah, I have a "NO evil genocidal Communist/1 Million People in Reeducation Camps/Harvesting millions of organs from political prisoners/taking over a huge chunk of the worlds' oceans/Massive Polluters/Preparing to Invade my friends in Korea, Japan and Taiwan" Policy. As you can see I'm still working on the name.

When are the good deals coming? I just want a Ryzen 4000 series with good screen and decent video card. Is March and April usually better for computers?

If you can wait then do that. Hopefully, from February, we should start seeing Ryzen 5000 laptops. That will also reduce the 4000 series laptop prices a bit.

For a mid tier ROG, 8GB of soldered Ram is disappointing. Why do they need to solder this in, no way to upgrade for more memory intensive programs.
for thinner and lightweight laptops the only Ram that fits the size format needs to be soldered — that is just the way that type of RAM is designed . It might have something to do with keeping the chip in place because it is so thin or so light — not sure

How are the thermals and fan design for this unit? What's the battery life? Seems like a solid mix of power and portability.

Thermals and performance are pretty good. I play dota 2, WoW and star wars jedi fallen order without any issues. So light to medium gaming is no issues.
The CPU is amazing when not gaming and has good build quality.

HP laptops are similar sized but have two SIMM slots FYI...
No Ryzen though :-(
