256GB OnePlus 8T Dual-SIM Unlocked 5G Smartphone (Silver or Green) EXPIRED

Just got this phone from T-Mobile last week for "free"( bill credits ) after trading in an old s9. My first OnePlus was the 6t, had it over 2 years. Then I sold it and got the galaxy s10. Samsung probably has best screen on the market and a great camera but I didn't find it to be as smooth and lag free as a OnePlus. The 6t was performing the same after 2+ yrs then it did on day one. I also prefer oxygen os over Samsung's UI. So when I saw the T-Mobile deal for a free 8t with galaxy s9 trade in I bought an s9 from offerup for 120 and traded it in. Initially, very impressed with the 8t. Smooth, fluid screen with 120hz. 12GB ram is a bonus although don't notice anything different comparing to 8GB I had previously. Warp charge is amazing and the phone is pretty lightweight overalll considering OnePlus phones usually feel on the heavy side. Resale used to be great on these phones but not anymore. Seems like they come out with a new one every few months ... I do have some gripes... Might be a T-Mobile variant issue though. Cell signal drops quite a bit. Never had this issue with 6t or the galaxy, both T-Mobile variant phones. I get "No Service" where I would normally have service. Calls going to VM and delayed texts. After googling this, it appears to be a common issue with the 8t. Hasn't been as bad recently, hoping updates fix this issue because appears to be software related. Camera is still mediocre. Not a huge improvement from 6t. Having said that, I do like the OnePlus phones. They run very smooth, UI is clean and close to pure Android. Specs are always great for the price and this phone with 5G, 12GB, 256GB storage should be futureproof for a couple years easily.

You'll have the same problems on a Verizon mvno with these phones, some more than others (especially CDMALess devices).

Correct. I've done this on my Metro moto g7 power. Verizon sim card wouldn't read until I flashed the RetUS firmware. Super easy. Oneplus would be very easy to do that too as well

Having owned a OP 7 Pro for nearly two years, my thoughts...echoing what you said. I think resale is bad just because the price of new caps resale with any product (you cant get 120 for a used anything if it sells new for 100). the 7t for example is 349 new from op, so it pretty much caps what i can sell my op7 pro for at like, 250 max.

they're good slabs of phones. But, I'm kinda bored of mine, maybe I'll go samsung>OP.Samsung>OP etc lol. Because I was bored of Samsung before I got the OP. I had Samsung flagships my whole life before this OP7. I'm getting tired of huge phones too, and something in the 6.2" range max I feel like will be my next buy, which is why I've got my eye on the S21, but not until the sales come. I also want a flat not curved screen as they're in vogue again.

Another thing I like about Samsung is IIRC they work on any network, where OP is GSM only, I think? I guess with Sprint merger it matters less and less...

I like the idea of like the Nord N10, would be cool for OP to branch that direction. Or if they could do a pseudo flagship with SD 888 for 499, that'd be awesome, if unlikely. Get back to their cheapo roots...

Total tangent but looking at the 888 benches, it's really not even that much better than the SD 855, never mind the 865. I feel like if you have a SD855 phone, you're good.
