From RTINGS (Mixed usage 6.7 rating): "The LG NANO80 is an okay TV for most uses. It's decent for watching TV shows or sports and performs best in wide seating arrangements due to its IPS panel wide viewing angles. It's good for gaming thanks to its incredibly low input lag and decent response time. However, it's not a good choice for watching movies in dark rooms because it has a low contrast ratio (blacks appear gray) and lacks a local dimming feature."

Good price for an LG 75 inch but absolutely no future proofing. No HDMI 2.1, no 120 Hz native refresh and no EARC. Could handle maybe 1 of the above 3 missing but not all 3.

Agreed! The LG 75un8500 at Costco for $900 would be a better future-proofing selection than this. It offers similar overall performance and has all three features you mentioned. It also removes 24p judder from all sources.

If you're gonna get a budget 75", you shouldn't buy this one. Wait for the UN6970 which just recently went on sale for $650. Absolute steal for the size and price.

You're right!... specs and ratings are almost identical. If the UN6970 goes on sale again for $650, that seems to be the play over the Nano80.
RTINGS" take: "The LG UN6970 is slightly better than the LG NANO80. The UN6970 gets brighter, has wider viewing angles, and a quicker response time. However, the NANO80 displays a wide color gamut and has better color accuracy."
