DMDM hydantoin is the chemical being referenced in the class action lawsuit.
I just switched to one of Garnier's shampoos because it didn't have this chemical in it. But I noticed that different shampoos in the same brand may or may not have it. Make sure to check ingredients before purchase!

What kind of idiot gets blisters, burns, and irritation and then just KEEPS USING the product?! These people are the reason for those warnings on products that say "If you experience 'THIS VERY SERIOUS REACTION' then discontinue use" because some people are too stupid to figure it out on their own.
Back in the late 80's or so, the visors in a work 4 wheel drive had a manufacturer's warning label about "do not attempt to lock in wheel hubs while the vehicle is in motion." For those youngins on here, you used to have to twist a knob on the front wheels to engage those wheels after you'd shifted into 4 wheel drive. We wondered what idiot had caused it to be written - a stupid lawyer or someone that actually ran alongside the truck while it was moving.

Edit to elaborate and not be a douche who claims things but doesn't detail/source it:
That 2013 lawsuit was settled in 2014. It was a class action but only two women. Out of a 10 million dollar settlement, there was a $250K reimbursement fund (for people who purchased the product but didn't necessarily suffer any damages). The rest goes to the lawyers and to a fund that does cover damages... good luck getting any of that unless you're one of the 2 women.
PSA
If you apply something to your body (inside or out) and it cause blisters, burns, physical pain, etc: STOP USING IT.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ easy peasy
$2.99ea x 2 = $5.98 - $3 coupon = $2.98 - .60 NEWYOU code (10% off the full price before coupon) = $2.38
$2.38 still isn't a slick deal. When it was BOGO50% off with the coupon and code it was a decent deal.

Interesting to note. I use shampoo every morning. I was completely unaware till you guys brought it up that. The funny thing is I deal with itchy dry scalp and I looked at some of the bottles in my shower and the Tresemme had it. The L'Oréal one didn't. I buy Fructis as well whenever the litre is on sale at samsclub. I will say that this is NOT the reason fructis is on sale. It's generally a cheap shampoo and I've been able to score it for 0.99 or 0.50 per bottle in the past from such deals like this.
Again thanks for the info...will be on the lookout next time it's shampoo shopping time. If anything can stop my scalp irritation I'll start by avoiding these chemicals first
