It's BS that they change the prices randomly whenever they feel like it and you can't "lock in your price" until you finish filing. Last year they did the same and I messaged support and they reverted back to my original rate, so I still got a decent price. But I may find another solution for this year unless I special rate pops up by the end of the month. Shame cuz I thought it was a decent service.

I'm deciding between this and Credit Karma Tax, which is free. Why would one with no super-complicated tax situations choose TaxAct over Credit Karma Tax?
