So this is basically the Korg B2, with a bigger rom (more sounds), furniture stand (a nice one), 3 pedal, slightly better speakers.

If you buy a B2 $(360), and hook up to a $40 amp and $100 bookshelf set, it'll sound better than LP380/G1 Air. For the money, you could even get a subwoofer in there for ~$100.

The FP30 has more polyphony but it's not a straightforward comparison because they sound very different, modeling engine vs sampling engine (Korg).
I personally like Rolands sound engine better. The Roland F-701 is going to start shipping to preorders mid February (According to chat guy from Musicians Friend). It's $1400 and comes with an adjustable bench. Also, Roland finally updated their interface to something more modern. No more 7-segment red LED stuff from the 80's.

I think the only place where this KORG wins is the 2X20W speakers. The Roland has 2x12W.

The Roland FP-60x ($1100) seems basically the same but portable, more buttons. Though you can get it with a stand and pedals but no bench for $1450...

Sorry for pushing Roland in a KORG thread Smilie

How is this compared to the Roland 140 or FP-30?

I'm glad Korg is still making good products, I still very fondly remember my Korg MS2000, my one and only synthesizer.

Exactly. IMO, Keyboard amps are pretty inexpensive. Plus you have the portability of a B2. I'm not lugging furniture around to gigs & you can store your keyboard when not in use.

I have this piano, it's a solid choice at $1700, let alone $1200.

Yes adding a subwoofer will allow you to reproduce that realistic acoustic piano subwoofer sound. Lol

Review here for the G1 Air: https://azpianonews.blogspot.com/...e.html?m=1

"The Korg G1 Air is one of the best digital pianos under $2000".

It's not clear if this deal is for the updated 2021 model but it looks like it might be. If so, this is an amazing price. If not, it's still an amazing price.

I called azpianonews to give them a chance to match (since their reviews were so helpful) and they couldn't believe the price (their price is $1649) and said it was an amazing deal. Looks like white ash is on clearance.

The pictures are of the new upgraded model. Not sure if that's what will ship or not.

I was eyeing the FP-30x (newer model of FP-30) which is due to start shipping in a week or so. Any thoughts on that vs. Korg?
