Love this game, but can't bring myself to play vanilla when I like the expansions on the PC version. I'll probably buy if those also come out included someday.

Must be a real TURD of a game for switch. I play civ and just don't enjoy civ6. I imagine switch has a hard time processing it.
this has been at 10 dollars for months

Totally agree on the game - I'm still playing Civ4. Civ 6 never "clicked" with me

Def try not to support amazon. Their workers wanted to vote to unionize by mailin ballot. But bezos wouldn't allow it cause mail in isn't secure haha. On another note I picked this up for 6.99. Haven't figured it out yet, never played civ before.

sounds like you are part of the union. care to share how you got this for 6.99 because I and probably most of the users on slickdeals don't care about the amazon union, at least not here.

It was at Best Buy for $7.99 (and I think Amazon?) for $7.99 for a short period. (SD post here).

tldr: Switch has a slightly rougher learning curve for new to Civ players

I got Civ 6 on the free Epic deal. I've never played a Civ game before. I picked up the Switch version at BB for $7.99 cuz, why not. There are some subtle quirks between the Switch version and PC version that makes it slightly difficult to learn on. For example, PC navigation with the mouse is way easier and you get tool tip on objects. On the Switch, you use your controller to move to objects THEN have to press the "-" for the tool tip. Not sure if that is a config you can change but definitely quirky. Haven't played with touch on the Switch. If you are an experienced player and already know what the icons/objects are, then it may be intuitive.

So far it runs great on the Switch and it is nice for couch play. I wish touch/pen was better supported on the PC because I managed to get it loaded up on my Surface Go and SP7.

Can't imagine playing civilization worth anything but a mouse and keyboard. Maybe on a touchscreen. Only played vanilla Civ 6 so far. I'll wait on the expansions since i still have plenty of fun with 4 and 5.

If this gets you into Civ, so much the better.😝

I have this CD from 10yr back and loved the game (I am AoE fan).
Is there any way to play this (or similar game) on cloud using browser?
Sorry no longer have desktop and not interested in investing in xbox/PlayS/switch?

Had fond memories of hours playing Civ decades ago, so I bought this on Switch for $10 near Christmas. Really impressed with the intro cutscenes and was excited to start playing.

Used the Pro controller on a TV, and found it clunky and a pain to play. Gave up after about 30 minutes and don't really expect to pick it up again.

I love Civ, but agree that mouse, keyboard, and hi-res screen feel necessary to make the experience enjoyable.

This has been the price since Cyber Monday sales. It hasn't stopped being on sale since then. I am waiting for the bundle version with all the DLC. Just like Civ 5, the DLC's change the game mechanics a little bit.
The DLC changes the game drastically. It's not very good without the first DLC, at least.
