This seems like a great price considering it is the only laptop with this form factor and resolution at that price.

They don’t brand them as MaxQ anymore. The GPU has a rated TGP from nVidia and the laptop maker is free to do whatever they want as far as performance/power levels. This is really going to confuse the market since the only way to know where the performance/power levels are for a given device is via benchmarking. In some cases a 3070 mobile will outperform a 3080 mobile, so don’t buy anything until you e seen the reviews and benchmarks on it.

Also, why is this so much cheaper? Very similar specs. Is it just because it bulkier?

As swiftwind said, it's 4 core, 8 threads. Hardware Canucks just posted a video review on it. In short, it looks like the CPU bottlenecks the gpu in games (it only has 4 pcie lanes). Basically, the CPU can't process all the info the GPU is pushing to it.

I'm personally waiting on more reviews that pair the new Ryzen 5000 series cpu's with the new Nvidia gpu's.

Thus begins the adventure of trying to find and compare RTX 3000 series mobile wattage.

Just so everyone knows if they don't already, NVIDIA removed any requirements for laptop makers to label lower powered mobile GPU's as "Max-Q" to indicate the design emphasis is on power efficiency and noise rather than straight performance. The only way we're going to be able to compare one 3000 series GPU to another is if the laptop makers grace us by telling us the wattage they're pumping thru the GPU. In extreme cases, you could end up with severely underpowered 3070 mobile GPU's being outperformed by high powered 3060's. Gonna be fun.

Yeah it's going to be with it to wait for reviews and wattage info for laptops with 3000-series cards. Pre-order at your own risk.

Great deal. Shame it's an Asus. I love their Strix cards but every Asus laptop I've owned or known someone else who owned has been a dumpster fire. I have a Q535U and it's just been letdown after letdown. Light leaky screen, touchpad that works half of the time, poor battery life, the constant inability to wake properly from sleep mode... Looks like a million bucks but acts like a buck fifty.
Mine took a crap too

Not seeing order option, was it pre-order status when posted? Not available at this time or for weeks from what I see.

Good pre order considering the specs, if it doesn't perform as well you can just return it. Best Buy has a good return policy.

What?????? Thanks for heads-up.

Asus saved $0.54 cents on the webcam and lost $100K in sales.
