Quote :
Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid via US website only at www.store.steelcase.com. Valid only on purchases made in US dollars. Excludes Canada website. Excludes employee sales, authorized retailers, resellers and third party gift card providers. Some merchants do not ship to all areas. Please see website for shipping to your area. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member. The enrolled Card account must not be cancelled or past due to receive statement credit. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 4/4/2021, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you may not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. POID: K1PP:0001

How realistic is the following scenario?

Buy 2 series 1 @ $419 [steelcase.com] each = $838 - $150 Amex offer = $688 sell extra chair on CL [craigslist.org].

do any of the amex No Annual Fee cards get offers like these?
I got it on my Blue cash everyday that I only use for groceries - several hundred a month.

Also got the motley fool one earlier today

Got this offer just in time for my chair to get here. That's super unfortunate.

I stand corrected. That's good. I imagine the Motley Fool is more promotion and this offer possibly as well. I guess I was thinking more that the BestBuy $50 off $50, Dell $100 off $100, HomeDepot $50 off $50 probably aren't on the free cards.
The worst part is actually that those offers you mentioned aren't on some of the $499 cards either.
(I mean, why would Amex want to incentivize business owners to shop at Best Buy, Dell, Home Depot, etc.? 😳)

those msrp prices are crazy inflated. you can get it much cheaper if you buy in bulk for an office, or go through dealers.
What's the strategy for getting a new Leap with a headrest for as low of a price as possible? Don't dealers only deal in bulk? I love this chair, but even with this discount it's still $1000 which I'm no crazy about paying.

honestly, just find a few local ones and give them a call. some are willing to work on price, and some have extra chairs, .etc.

btw, if you are near steelcase's headquarters (east MI) they have an outlet store. Same with herman miller, .etc.

I suppose this deal has some value to a few people on this site but I am not sure how many. I admit I have no way to know how many people looking for deals at Kohl's , Walmart and Costco shop at Steelcase but I have not seen their products here before. This does seem typical of a lot of Amex deals however that are in the style of $100 off of $1000 at Neiman Marcus or $200 off of $2000 at some elite spa.

I bought a used Think chair for $125 several months. It was produced in 2014 so still in warranty. Looks and feels like a new chair as far as I can tell. It's a huge step up from my $100 Staples chair. I bought it from an office furniture rental store. They've a lot of these chairs because offices are closed all over the country. My company had an offer that I can buy one Leap chair for just $500+tax. But I still think it's better deal to buy a used.

Waiting for a possible deal. This could be good on more expensive items if Steelcase allows split tender on two+ cards and you have access to two+ offers. Anyone know if split tender is possible, even by phone?

When does Steelcase typically run sales between now and when this offer expires?

Is the gesture worth it for $600 after the statement credit? Or is it better to get a leap at $600 and get something else for $150. BTW, I have WFH coupons.

Steelcase is pathetic!! Prices are exorbitantly high with abysmal service levels.

I placed an order that didn't ship in a month. After several reminders they said they would ship after 3 weeks!!

Just avoid it!
