Nintendo eShop has Civilization VI Expansion Pack [nintendo.com] for $19.99. This is the lowest price ever. Might be a good pick since the base game is also on sale for $7.99 on Amazon and other places.

Includes following DLCs:-
  • Civilization VI: Rise and Fall
  • Civilization VI: Gathering Storm
NOTE: This is a DLC for Sid Meier's Civilization VI. You must have the base game to make use of this.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I play it pretty regularly. It's not as good as a PC, of course, but much better than I'd expected, and definitely not awful.
I wanted to add to the other person who got downvoted saying it was awful playing on Switch. It really isnt. It's playable and still quite fun with the benefit if being able to play anywhere!

However! I would like to note, the experience on PC with a big monitor and mouse, is simply better. The tradeoff being you sit there for hours and hours so to each their own.
The reason why you deserve your downvotes is because you haven't even played it yet. "Must be awful". Ok bro. Go peddle you're dumb shit elsewhere.

So if I buy the digital, will I still require the cartridge to play?

Is the content worth it? I bought Civ on sale but haven't opened it yet.

Civ VI has been awesome for my son. He is looking forward to the expansion packs, but we are on Xbox. Anyone seen a deal for the Expansion pack on Xbox?

Seems like a great price. Historically Civ games get two expansions before they are "complete", so nice to do that here.

Civ on a switch just be awful to control.
It is for sure once you get further into the match. I kept choosing the smallest maps and would end up struggling after 100 turns or so.

That's what I figured. 2500 hours in civ 5, can't imagine doing it with a controller, let alone joycons/touchscreen. You need a mouse for this kind of game to move quickly/comfortably imo.

Beginning of the game is just fine for a controller. Later on when you need to move mutiple units is where the keyboard and mouse becomes extra handy. I still recommend the game on the Switch for those without a PC. Not much compared to others but I spent over 50 hours on it for the Switch and was worth the money for me.

EDIT: downvote me, it's fine. my feelings won't change.
I played it on the Switch when it first came out. I can confirm it is awful to control. Anyone who says otherwise is just willing to overlook it, which is fine, but no one should be saying it controls well, because it absolutely does not. I'm a console gamer and I love these games, but they were made for PC.
