Cricket is having the iphone se deal again. But this time you have to pay for 2 months of service, so it's not as good as in the past.

I wish there was a way to tell what the better deals are for people actually trying to use the service vs. flipping phones for $, I've got 4 lines on Cricket and need to upgrade most of them soon....

What's not clear? It's for new port in lines. You'll have to port out to another carrier or voip and then port back in. All four lines.

Do you have to wait for 6 months if you want to port in the same number back to cricket?

No. The six months requirement is if you previously partook (is that a word?) in a previous free or nearly free phone(s).

Keep in mind though it's not so straight forward for cricket to track though if you ported out, as you will. Once you port out, your account history is gone. Porting back in creates a new account.

Having said that, at times new port-in order review flag may get your new port-in order cancelled. In which case you are royally screwed if your port gets stuck. Unlikely, but shit happens.

To get this deal phone numbers form Visible (Verizon MVNO) also works. I've got couple of Visible phone numbers for port. PM me if you are interested. Looking for $5 AGC for each number.

90 days I think is their requirement unless you use different name, address and (maybe) payment option.
6 months past with 1 more payment before you can ask for the unlock code, that's from experience. But Cricket is a good carrier if you can't find cheaper services.

He didn't ask about the unlock but for how long before you can order another deal after you got phones from them before.

For those buying this phone for eventual unlocking it's the same deal as before, since you had to pay for 6 months of service @ $30 a month ($180 total) + $50 for the phone to get the phone eligible to be unlocked through Cricket.

The only difference here is you pay for $120 of service up front, vs the old deal was $60 up front. Either way you can downgrade to $30 plan immediately (so with this deal, get four months prepaid, vs two months with the old deal) and you can still use a referral code to save another $25, along with cash back sites that will give you a few bucks back on top of that.
is the unlock after 6 months still legit? ive my service active since nov.'20 but cricket still shows ..
"Eligible for unlock in 179 days"

could someone verify and confirm?

If you plan to keep the cricket line for at least 60 days, please DM me if you are planning to sign up. I got two phones in December and service has been great. I am staying with cricket for 6 months. Can't beat $49 for a $400 phone with no activation fees. $30 per month including all taxes for 2GB ain't bad when most of us are stuck home using WiFi.

Yes, I have requested unlock my phone few days ago. Do you use the sim with a different phone? I think it may be the reason why it requires 179 days even you active your service since Nov.

I tried several times before 6-month period completed and, of course, I was not successful. The unlock was only available after 17x days (I did not need to pay for 7th month).

don't know why it doesn't shows your counting, but i requested the code to check how many days left and unlock automatically today (before 6 days of 6 months).

"Stuck on 179 days" thing happened to several people who got the deal in November, including myself. It seems that phones activated on Nov. 25 were affected. Did you order two phones together or just one? In my case, it was two phones in one order. IMO, this seems to have been caused by the mistake of whoever picked/packed the order. Looks like in my case they got sim cards associated with wrong device.

I haven't seen any DPs/reports of successful resolution for this issue. I just used those two phones for trade in, and replaced one of them with SE 2020 phone from another order, losing about 20 days for unlock purposes. Once I swapped another phone on that line, "days remaining" meter started moving and counting as it should.

Here is a link to one of those posts about this issue:

https://slickdeals.net/f/14577712-cricket-apple-iphone-se-64-gb-49-99-with-port-in-new-customers-or-ex-after-180-days?p=144258977#post144258977

Some SDers were contacting Cricket about this issue, but there were no updates from them subsequently. You may want to PM them to see if they were able to address this issue.
