I did a search, could not find this item posted before. This was I think last year's Black Friday price for this laptop. While not the most up to date configuration, by any stretch, for the price point is still probably a decent deal. I did purchase the 3 years Walmart accident protection plan, for peace of mind. I need a decent laptop now for basic browsing and work tasks and I don't have $1k to spend for something I really want; this is ok for me.
The 14.1-inch Gateway Ultra Slim Notebook features a 1080p screen that brings a crystal-clear picture for any and all of your tasks. I think more than enough people have bought this (and returned for VIP outlet to sell refurbs of it). For those that have/had it how are the colors on the display? Like a standard IPS screen or worse?
I know people complained about the keyboard and trackpad but at this price it's a trade-off.
edit: didn't realize this post wasn't a refurb. I got a grade A refurb of the 15.6in. hereis the SD post

Be aware that Gateway is owned by EVOO.
Low quality chinese systems.

I took a look at the 14 refurbs before I bought the 15. They were higher priced. If the 14s come down under $300 I'm switching.
Planning to find out myself at some point.

A couple of deal breakers for some (including me):
No USB-C charging. This is not a problem in itself, but I've forgotten the proprietary barrel plug chargers at home, had some break over time, that it's a huge pain to get another charger when you're out and about / traveling (visiting family, friends, etc). In 2021 I won't buy a laptop without USB-C charging because that one time you forget the proprietary charger at home means the laptop is a brick until you can spend $50 - $100 to buy a replacement last minute at Best Buy / Walmar, etc.
Second - a review states that the Power button is where the Delete button is. This might be an issue for people who are used to traditional keyboards where the power button is not on the keyboard.
For those two reasons, I'll look for another deal. This is a great deal for a great spec laptop if you can live with the downsides.
