I just purchased one of these to use as a top to my standing desk frame. Dimensions are 6' x 25" wide x 1.5' thick. Ship to store is free. Have not seen a better price for solid wood this size.

FYI.... hevea wood is softer than birch wood as it comes from trees producing rubber. I made 2 desks and went with birch wood instead of hevea due to online reviews it had on quality long term compared to birch.
As someone with no woodworking experience, how do you go about getting this centered on desk legs?
Not sure how heavy this piece is but put it on the floor upside down and put the legs on that way. And as the other comment, measure away. Then get some help to flip it right side up.
This one is great. I got it for $112 clearance in store earlier this month. Added Dark Walnut stain and it looks great. Was the finishing piece on my Ikea Alex drawer desk hack. 72" was actually a tad too large for me so I cut 6-7" off and made a matching stand for my desktop.
This is a good alternative to using the Ikea Karlby and similar countertops that just are not in stock until July. And its solid wood vs part particle board. As long as you seal it with some kind of method. I just stained and used a lot of wax coatings. I don't like to use polyurethane sealers due to possible dust specs.

Easiest thing to do is check stores in your area with this brickseek link [brickseek.com] and order for pickup to a discounted location.
