HSN (with new member discount code HSN2021) Has the Moto G Power smartphone, 2020 model #XT2041DL, available for $99.99 with free shipping. Includes a full year of service through Tracfone - 1,500 minutes (aka 25 hours), 1,500 texts, 1,500 megabytes (aka 1.5 Gigabytes). Locked to Tracfone for first year, easily unlockable after. First year will be CDMA mode on Tracfone, but once you unlock after year of use, you can use GSM.

I was able to get 2 discounts on 2 of these easily at same address, using my wife and my name, and different payment methods.

Phone specifications:

model # XT2041DL first released April 2020
VoLTE and wifi calling
64 GB of flash storage for apps
4 GB of system RAM
5 Amp Hour battery (aka 5,000 milliamp hour)
2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 Octa Core processor
6.4" IPS LCD display, 1080x2300 resolution
Adreno 610 GPU
Android 10 (will get upgrade to Android 11)
Dolby audio
4k video, 30fps
Bluetooth 5
USB C 2.0
10 Watt charging (some users have reported even faster charging using their old
Moto X4 charger, getting a "turbopower connected" message on screen, YMMV)
fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, FM radio
supports up to 512 MB micro SD card for storage expansion

excerpt from review: "In our battery rundown test, which streams HD video over Wi-Fi at full brightness, the phone lasted an amazing 18 hours and 11 minutes. That's a significant jump compared with the Moto G7 Power (14 hours, 29 minutes) and one of the best battery life results we've seen in some time. With conservative use, we think the Moto G Power can probably last two days between charges."

Frequency bands supported:
GSM Mhz band Quad-Band 850/900/1800/1900
Primary 2G network GSM 850/900/1800/1900
Primary 3G network UMTS 850/900/1700/1900/2100
Primary 4G network LTE Cat13 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 29, 30, 66, 71)
TD-LTE (38, 39, 40, 41)
Primary data network GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+, TD-LTE, LTE, LTE-A

Will they unlock after a year or will you need to get one month's service after the 365 days?

After 365 days of service Tracfone stops the service but keeps your number active giving you time to add more service if needed. Attempt to do the unlock on last day of service and continue trying during the period they have the phone number on hold. On all HSN deals I was able to get the unlock code without buying an additional month of service There is an online Tracfone portal to request the unlock

This is a great phone. The phone is on the heavy side because of the big battery, but I have never had a phone that can last for days without changing.
Moto E4+ will. I can get an easy five days battery dependent upon use. This is a nice phone here, but Tfone is very very poor service.

Not worth it at all Tfone is tertible service.
It depends on your situation. On the fence on this deal because there is no 5G. My guess is 5G is going to benefit the bottom tier customers like myself. If you don't like the service, just get a new sim and a new service. There other tricks online you can use as well. Tracfone is highly motivated to give you great service, for a price.

You can get a free GSM SIM card from TF and switch to T-Mobile or AT&T networks.
Poor reception on both Verizon and AT&T networks. Google search indicates may be due to antenna design on recent Moto G phones. For this reason, my phone is now a mini tablet.

I would not enable wifi calling (counts as minutes used) stick with Google Voice8t
It doesn't work like that. TF only puts the call through on wifi if there is no Verizon Coverage where you are. If you don't enable wifi, you will miss the call and it goes to voicemail.

Is this reception issue for both the 2020 and 2021 Moto G Power? And just out of curiosity, what is a "mini tablet" phone ha?

My Moto G is 2020. I use it as a tablet at home. I am interested to know if anyone experiences similar issue and able to resolve the poor reception.

A lot more people were complaining about the G7 Power than the phone you have now. Mine has great reception.

What network are you using for good mobile coverage and what phone is it?

I am using an AT&T network on iPhone XS now. My wife upgraded her phone, so the iPhone XS is available for me to use. May I ask which network are you using on your 2020 Moto G?

Correct, it makes the service more reliable. However, many Tracfone customers are unique and do not want their minutes used when Wifi is available. Just pointing that out for those who may not know. In my case Wifi calling makes no sense, not worth the risk; use Google Voice, free and no chance of losing minutes.

I am on Verizon with no reception problems whatsoever. I almost never give out my TF number to anyone. I give out my GV number, so calls are taken over free wifi when I am home. When I am in my car or outdoors, calls go through paid Verizon via call forwarding.

Depending on what you need. Personally, I would buy it from Google Fi rather than Tracfone if I need a Moto G Power (2020). Especially if the $20 off code is not working for you.

Right now, the phone is $49 + ~$50 for 2 mo. of service w/ tax/fee = ~$100 out of pocket. After 60 days, they will give you $49 Fi credit = 2 additional months. So, basically it is around $100 for a unlocked Moto G Power (2020) with 4 month of services + maybe $1-2/mo on data (100-200 MB per mo which is a reasonable assumption since you are considering this Tracfone annual plan).
You need to transfer a number to get the discount, then need to remain "active" for 60 days (which may just mean pay for two months, but sometimes you actually need to be on the network). So unless you want Fi, or a spare number to port in, you're paying $200.

Thank you for the information. I may try going back to Verizon network.
