double post; but I recommend the inovelli dimmer, even if you have to hang a ballast resistor unit off of it.

Electricity isn't that hard if you're careful and watch some YouTube videos. What people are talking about is how things might be wired in you're house. I'll go a step further and say if your house is so old to have outdated wiring, the box probably isn't going to fit a smart switch in the first place. You can switch it out for an old work box, but that might be more trouble than it's worth to you.
If you do go ahead with it. Get a contact less voltage detector for a few bucks before you even think about touching a wire.

Lutron Caseta switches don't need neutral. You need to use bulbs on the compatible list (without neutral, operating wattage goes through the light circuit which can cause issues with some bulbs).

The NEC (National Electric Code) started requiring neutral in switches from 2011, mainly to accommodate smart switches like this. So anything built after 2011 will have it for sure. But even before that wiring practice was trending toward the line coming in to the switch first leading neutral to be present. But no guarantee. I am remodeling and rewiring my bathroom and the old wiring would not have worked with this.

if it's a country with electric running at 120VAC and 60Hz and smart switches are allowed by code.... probably.

Lutron caseta line of switches do not require a neutral... Yes you pay a TON more, but really nice with their 3 way options using their Pico remotes. I used a good bit of these in my 50s ranch, it has a lot of three way switches, honestly, couldn't be happier.

lutron also uses its own hub, so it doesn't relay on servers being active.

I love Eufy, but have been disappointed when their servers go down for maintenance, and cannot access my cameras on the fly.

Just to modify, it's their dimmer switches that do not require a neutral. Their regular light switches do require one.

I agree. But you and I KNOW what we're talking about. People on here posting that neutral usually PROVIDES 120, or that neutral 'provides' voltage so switches can still communicate when they're turned off. If you believe that is sound advice and theory, more power to you. Folks that don't understand electricity can be fooled into thinking they're safe doing something, when they AREN'T.

The Lutron PD-5WS-DV-WH is an on/off that does NOT require a neutral. They make two different versions of the non dimmer. I personally have the dimmers.... (Got them for like $12 a few years ago during the Best Buy price matching fiasco)
