They are the same, except the 10850k is overclockable. At the current prices, everyone should buy the 10850k whether or not you can/will overclock because the resale value will be better and you save $2 today.
I disagree. For one you are forgetting that the 10900 includes a heat sink while all K-variants do not. The 10900 is half the TDP and probably $10 less per year run cost. Also, this:
"If you are willing to spend 30 seconds in the BIOS, you can turn the i9-10900 into a price/performance monster. With the power limit removed, the CPU will run at its full potential, basically rivaling the Core i9-10900K at much lower pricing, and a heatsink is included, too."
Great for 10850K, I got 10700K at $350 last September, almost dropped 100
So, AMD is now only watching Intel selling more and more CPUs? And still keeps the 5900X in its Warehouses but not back in store?
Why would any company do that? Probably more likely that demand is so much higher than supply that any that get manufactured gets sold out right away.
AMD is not stupid they know they have a hit product, no reason not to sell it.
As a guy with a 5900x i wish I would have stayed with intel. My 5900X as well as many others if you check the amd tech support forums under processors have had really bad stability issues, random BSOD etc. Bios upgrades and chipset patches have made it a bit more stable but it's still not rock solid and for someone spending this kind of money on a processor you'd want it to work right out of the box. I will never buy an AMD again

I have been happy with my 9900ks and z390 setup. I don't think I have had any BSOD on this system.
I won't need to upgrade for awhile. Will look at it when DDR5 and PCIE 5 are out.
Looking to build a gamer pc with my daughter and thinking of getting the 10700. Anyone recommend a good motherboard at a good price? I also see a nice gamer mouse on SD as well.
does anyone no the return policy for mc? can i ship a product back to them for refund if i bought it in store?
they were oos on the 10850k when i was in town so i ended up with a 10700k. now that b&h has them on sale and they ship, i want to return the 10700k and pick up the 10850k. tomorrow would be my last day of my return window.

So only thing holding me back is the additional costs this would incur with new MB, WiFi card if not included, and TPM module.
Does anyone know if Intel processors include software/firmware TPM. Much like the Ryzen processor which feature fTPM making it so it doesn't require having to buy a separate TPM module.
Since no graphics cards are available, is it worth to pick up a cheap 10850k now and sit on it until I can get a 3080 or a 3090, or just wait and score the gpu first then pay more for a newer gen amd or Intel cpu later on? I'm not In a hurry, I'm still rocking my 1080 ftw, but I don't want to miss this good deal and regret it. Any opinions? Thanks in advance.

Also could anyone recommend which mobo to go with in MC?
