Free in-store pickup. Shipping makes the deal not as sweet, but if you are able to pick this up it's a great deal!

This would be an okay deal with the chainsaw alone, but coupled with the 5ah battery this is a smoking deal!
Competitor pricing is around 220

CCC on Amazon shows the lowest price for this set was 199.00 on Aug 31, 2018.

I'm going to guess since this deal exploded and is featured on front page that it is bringing in many deal shoppers who wouldn't normally shop for this saw.

This deal does not have a charger but as many pointed out you can get one cheaply several different ways.

For those of us who frequent the tool deals and Dewalt specifically, this is a great deal (at the $150 picked up price IMO) for this saw with a solid battery. The deal is aimed at folks already in the Dewalt lineup.

This and the other Dewalt outdoor power equipment deals from Grainger are good through 3/31. This is only the start of a big OPE push we are going to see from Dewalt across many different retailers in Q1 and Q2 this year. Free battery, free bonus tool, and/or package deals are coming soon.

Aimed at folks already in the dewalt lineup? I have makita and bought this. Sorry, not a Dewalt fanboy, lol

The lack of a charger here seems to be a clear image that this is at least geared towards someone who already has other Dewalt 20v tools and thus a charger.

Assuming you need a charger for your new saw I'd recommend to at least get a DCB115 charger, a DCB118 would be really nice. Avoid the DCB107 and DCB112, you'll be waiting for that 5ah to charge forever on those lower end chargers.

Don't blame you for getting in on this deal, the Makita stuff seems to get much less frequent deals compared to the other big brands.

DeWalt had some great deals through Lowe's around October of last year through Lowe's with buy a tool and get 5 Ah battery for free. What me and other SDers would do is price match Lowe's against HD, Amazon or Fasteners Inc and get free battery on top of it. Flip battery and score XR bare tool for around $50.

Sounds like you think similar deals are coming up like that, which would be cool. Still need to round out my XR line I'm building up.

I'm waiting for the Milwaukee to go on sale because I would like a smaller electric chainsaw instead of dragging out the large gas one that I have. Anyone have experience with this? I would need a charger but looks like an amazing deal.
I don't have experience with dewalt, but I use the Milwaukee all the time at work. They're great saws.
We cut telephone poles into smaller pieces with them, as long as the battery is charged enough they have no problem.

Not sure why pole saw is listed as 12" as it's 8"
I was just looking at that. I didn't think they made a 12", and I just purchased the pole saw 2 weeks ago on here from Acme tools for 169+tax with 4Ah battery and charger. These are good deals either way.

I'm in for the brushless edger + 6ah 60v battery. Does anyone know what the model number is for the string trimmer attachment? I found the edger attachment but I can only find the string trimmer with the motor after 30 minutes of googling.

I have a 40v Ryobi brushed string trimmer with an edger attachment but it can't keep up with the edger, keeps getting bogged down. I'm hoping DeWalt will come through with better performance as Ryobi sort of sucked me in on deals but feels extremely under powered.

My Home Depot has had the Dewalt Flexvolt Trimmer with 9Ah battery (box says 3Ah, but picture is 9Ah and that is in the box) for $199 on sale. I picked one up and the battery itself is worth at least $125.

I'll happily sub a DC tool for a gas one whenever I can especially over 2-cycle gas, but I'll never buy another battery powered chainsaw.

For limbs and such or a very thick tree trunk cut (as in one before switching battery packs), fine, but these toys just can't compete with gas in terms of power and speed. If you need to get the occasional fallen tree out of the road, this will be fine. If you need to chop up a tree for firewood, you'd better have a lot of battery packs and a lot of free time.
